but if circles and curves were introduced, it could used for pretty much every part of a skin.

The day I can draw a circle (and do some interactive virtual visuals, such as a slider), I'll do a pure virtual skin with no png ^^

Thx.

This drawing process really needs improvements. I hope it will be soon.

It does not hurt to use color visuals instead of images, but using multiple color visuals instead of one image would be more time consuming both in loading and in drawing.
For next build, loading of Fruit's skin will be 20% faster btw :)

Yes I use that too a lot to define virtual buttons state :(

Anyways thanks for having a look at this that's kind !

I like this, skilled users pushing the software to almost breaking point and the devs saying "go for it!"

LOL yes I felt like I reached some limits.

But,

Those limits may depend on several things. I was reviewing again this skin by djdad, tcmania99. It's got 99 decks, 32k lines xml file ! And... It loads in 1sec !

I only use 8 decks, 12k lines in xml (althought both skins have 1M chars each, so, pretty much the same xml string length). And it's way longer to load than tcmania.

At a point I was also suspecting the script engine to be slow, cause I use some complex visibility strings. I don't know if the visuals using more time/resource is the only reason to the loading delay. Maybe someone could tell us about how fast the script engine is, when stretching it. Maybe you loco ?

2 things about your skin that make it relatively slow to load are parsing of the scripts and using the class defines.
Although the xml is only 12k lines, the valid comparison is probably the size after the class defines have expanded all elements that they are applied to.

All good things brought by v8 ^^.

Ouch... If I try to imagine that... Then it's doing 130k++ lines. LOL

This Update blew my mind, excellent and absolutely great job!
It seems that the VDJ-Team should adopt such a great and customizeable skin as default skin.

A few ideas to mention for Controller view:
- miss SYNC in the Transport Section
- miss slow Pitch reset
- miss custom knobs in the Toolbar, e.g. for filter resonance
- miss crossfader in the Toolbar
- use Samples opens the Sampler page in the browser

I got flickering scrolling text on the decks

Thanks mate ^^

cj-jan wrote :

There's one sync button, just visit the controller menu, 5th item.

cj-jan wrote :
- miss slow Pitch reset

Slow reset is achieved with a rightclick on the slider.

cj-jan wrote :

It seemed to me that custom knobs are much less used/needed than custom buttons. But I'll think about this !

cj-jan wrote :

Well, that's a controller layout hahaha, dunno if I will add that...

cj-jan wrote :

Afaik, I can't really know from the skin which pad page you're actually viewing, therefore I can't execute custom commands if you trigger one or another page. Did you see this behavior in another skin ? Which one ?

What is flickering ? I don't see anything on this pic.

Resonance can now be set by rightclicking on ANY filter knob.

I would suggest to read every tooltip again, all right/long clicks are explained.
