Topic: VST3 support - Page: 1
I know virtualdj does not currently support Vst3 and this was last asked last august 2021 (I did search for this) but is there any plans for Atomix to add support for VST3 in the pipeline?

does anyone know a way i could use a VST3 plugin in anyway on my master output?
maybe via ableton link or somehow? would this increase latency??

i don't think vst3 works

vst2 works fine most plugins I've seen come in both just makes sure your using 64 bit

What plugin/s are you trying to use? Maker and Plugin name, please.

What build of VDJ you are running, too.

I have find vst3shell ( https://www.xlutop.com/buzz/zip/vst3shell_v1.2.1.zip ) for windows

1- In the zip copy the "vst3shell.x64.core" and the "vst3shell.x64.dll" in your [HOMEDOC]\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect\vst

2- open VirtualDJ in the plugin list select "vst3shell.x64" and active it

3- in the plugin list "vst3shell.x64" become a directory with the vst3 you can chose and activate normally

It's seen to work i have only tested with 2 ou 3 vst3 plugin

Hey..can anyone confirm this shell thing working ?

Will check it out once i get home..

so what happened?

So i did a thing.
the plugin was a freebie and i installed that first.
then i dropped the vst3 plugin in plugins64 and voila.. it worked!!

Nice..Do this work For 32 bit ?...windows 7 ?..

Got it working.....wierd tho..this thing opens other vst3 that are not in he vdj folder but falls under the same type..

Re: windows 32bit and windows 7..
Sorry I haven't had these for a very long time so cannot say how these fare in the modern world.

And yes I did notice it finds plugins that are installed in their correct directories. It is a bit of a pain to have to try and find the one I've just installed then copy to vdj folders too but there is a reason for that.. you can have more than one copy of the same plugin in vdj, just rename the copy as something2

For the 32b they are in the zip the file vsti3shell.* ;)

Which plugins are you all using that are not available as vst2?

The one in the screenshot above is the first one I've encountered so far but there will be more as I've been uninstalling ones that didn't work

I personally would like to use my Neutron and Ozone plugins.

Izotope's public statement:
"VST2 Migration (Neutron 4, RX 10 and Ozone 10)
With our latests product release of Neutron 4, RX 10 and Ozone 10 we will only be installing VST3 not VST2, This is because Steinberg, the creator of VST no longer supports VST2 which means we cannot guarantee it will work properly going forward."

Build 7131 has initial VST3 support, so give it a try :)

yes i can use the above VST3 without the plugin mentioned above too, thanks guys

Sweet!..

Running VDJ 7131 already, and I did test this ahead of time. However, it looks like I was moving the DLL from the VST3 folder and not the VST3 file itself. My fault there.

The next issue, though, is that when I click the VST settings (gear icon next to the effect), do I just get a VDJ pop-out next to Auto mix and not the VST effect window that allows me to configure the plugin?
