It's still not making sense to me, but I got it setup on my Surface Pro 3.
With limited testing, it seems to be working fine on the other machine.

Sorry if I have caused any unnecessary grief, but I appreciate the responsiveness.
I'll try to reinstall and see if that fixes my main computer.
 
Hi, I think that I may be missing something..

I have just setup freestyler and it's all working how I want - I have a few chases setup, which I can trigger using keyboard shortcuts from within freestyler. What I can't work out how to do is be able to do that whilst in VDJ. I know that the "Generate Script" button is meant to let me generate the vdjscript to be able to control these things, but it only ever gives me the script "set $fsvalue 0 & set $fscommand 28", no matter what I put in the bar at the top, or the value section.

I have tried manually editing the "command" section of the script - apart from for commands 1 + 2 - which control "Favourite" and "Blackout", I can't seem to make it do anything?

All I want to do is use the following commands:

Trigger Chases
Pause S2L
Manual Trigger

Other than that, I'm happy.. Currently it syncs through and the chases are changing according to the beat of the music - which is awesome - but it would be perfect with the controls.. :)

set $fsvalue 255 & set $fscommand 68


Are you trying to trigger a sequence, a sub master, an override?
 
I'm trying to trigger sequences mainly...

I'm not new to DMXing - just new to freestyler. I've used lighting boards for all this before now but I don't want to drag one around anymore when I can have everything in my laptop..

Is there a list somewhere of what command number each command refers to?

However, I find the command generator makes it easier
 
That's the thing - I can't get the command generator to work for me. All it does is give me "set $fsvalue 0 & set $fscommand 28" as the output, no matter what I set as the input action or the value..

Help?

Are you using VDJ8 and Freestyler8? Are they the newest releases?

set $fsvalue 255 & set $fscommand 505
should start sequence 1, then it counts up from there.
set $fsvalue 255 & set $fscommand 514
for sequence 10
set $fsvalue 255 & set $fscommand 524
for sequence 20

set $fsvalue 255 & set $fscommand 525
should stop sequence 1, then it counts up from there.

I created these commands from within the plugins generator. We should still try to figure out why your values are not changing.
 
Am I being completely stupid? Probably!

I cannot download the Freestyler8 plug for VDJ8. I get a message saying that:

"Sorry, the link you have used is not valid anymore."

Anyone help me with the correct link?

Hi All,

Has anyone got VDJ8 and Freestyler working over a wireless network?
Ideally want to split over 2 laptops but second laptop doesn't have RJ45 network port... have to buy a breakout cable.

Was wondering if I need to open up some port or something, tho can't see anyone mentioning a setup over WiFi.

Have the know how and the gear to setup local hosted network at a gig to ensure security etc blah blah

NEVER MIND, just noticed a wireless icon on freestyler and that the test light cycles colours when audio is playing!!!
It's working in other words!!!
 
I have used VDJ8 on one laptop with the plugin sending commands to another laptop running freestyler.

I believe you need to have port 3332 allowed in the firewall.
 
Why only for pro?? I have licence only for one controller, but I want it too. This is unfair.
 
Only the Pro version is capable of using a plugin of this type. The Plus version cannot.
 
.. due to the licence (money). Technically it is possible to úse it. So if I bought licence for 1 controller (for home party), I cant use DMX light sync to the with VDJ. I´m angry.
 
 
It's got nothing to do with money, there is a technical reason as to why this plugin cannot work with plus.

It would actually be possible to make a different version of the plugin that worked with plus however.
 
It would be perfect, if will be possible to make a different version for plus licence
