Due the the built in on chip memory controller of the a64 tracks load much much faster one of the first things I noticed. Only one bad thing is cpu multiplier is locked :( I've heard its not of the fx55...

Congratulations ! :-) is the quality of the MP1 output exactly the same as if you had played it through a regular media player ?

the fx series was a bad chapter in nvida's past you can over clock just about any nvidia gpu by installing a litte registry hack called cool bits (google it) btw vdj chokes on wmv high def getting about 1,2 fps tp be expected from 1280x720 tho...

Cyder,

Im actually looking at the evga Geforce 6800 128MB 256-bit DDR AGP over at newegg.com for 199.00 after 30.00 rebate... Its not a 6800GT, but those are more than what I want to spend right now.

killa

Honestly I woudn't want anything but a gt the regular ones don't have the fast ram in them. Go for the 6600gt 160 at new egg right now. I've had good luck with the gigabyte version. Remember slow ram is just as bad as low ram :)

killia,

A couple of things you should know before you plug that card into your mother board.

1. If you are using an agp version. Make sure you mobo is able to put out the correct voltage this is a 3.3 v card. Make sure you look or you'll be building anothe whole computer :)

2. Power supply make sure you have at least a 350 watt powersupply. You'll notice the extra molex on the card you have to use this connecter or the card will not work.

3. read all instrucrions before you install (don''t make the same mistakes I did)

4. if you are using pci-x then you don't have to do any of the above.

Damn... My MB is an Asus p4p800-e deluxe.. it only supports 1.5v vid cards. Guess Ill be looking for a new MB.... I might go with another Asus since it is so stable. I have a pentium 2.4 chip in it so ill be getting the Pentium version. Any suggestions on a stable MB with intel chipset?

Man, now that I think about it, I might go with an AMD chip instead and sell my mb/cpu. Its probably gonna be better to go with a pci-express vid card instead.
