Of course, I don't think it caches the *video*, just the audio. As for the comment about Macs, I'd say that they run really smooth for audio, but for video you will be far more limited. I haven't really tried VDJ on a decent Mac for video recently, but I recall a lot fewer codecs and features being supported and such. I think it's best to stick with a PC for Video DJing in VDJ.

I concur. Of course I am running Win7 on a Mac so that's technically my setup :) I do find it to be the best of both worlds.

Chris (or anyone else familliar with the matter), I have a question about the BAR_C1_JOG LEDs (the ones that show the platter rotation around the central jog section).
I have repurposed these to work as an indication for position (the percentage of the song that has played). Currently only a single LED lights up, but is it possible to make it so that the LEDs light up all at once, instead of one at a time, as the song plays?
I kind of think that this might be behavior that is built into the hardware, but thought I should ask in case there might be a way of changing this.
The line from the device file looks like:
<bar cc="0x62" min="0x00" max="0x10" channel="1" name="BAR_C1_JOG" default="JOG" />

Looking at the other definitions gave me the answer fairly quickly. I wish I understood better why this works, but I just had to change the min and max values to 0x28 and 0x31 respectively, and that did exactly what I wanted.
<bar cc="0x62" min="0x28" max="0x31" channel="1" name="BAR_C1_JOG" default="get position" />
EDIT:
Uh... wait a minute. Turns out I was a bit off. Now the right half of the lights light up as the song plays, then at the end, the left half of them all light up at once and the right half turns off. I'll need to tweak this more to get it working correctly :(

Hey Supacon,
You mentioned this a couple times in your posts but I couldn't find a solution.
Did you find a way to set the pitch slider to relative instead of absolute?
Absolute is basically useless as it is not precise enough (or maybe TOO precise :p) considering it's a touch pad.

Yes, my mapper behaves that way... but before I can help anyone, there are issues with my custom mapper and VDJ7. It simply won't be recognized no matter what I do...
Chris, would you know why my mapper doesn't take effect in VDJ7? It seems to be overridden by the default. I'm not quite sure how to get mine back in effect, which works much better for how I intend to use these controllers, obviously.
In the stock mapper, I cannot get the relative sliders to work properly as a "jog" which is how I used to configure them to perform relative adjustments.

I've tried this in VirtualDJ 6 as well, and now I cannot get my custom mappers to work there any longer after upgrading. I thought that the installation of VDJ6 and VDJ7 were relatively independent, because they used separate EXEs, but the inability to load my custom hardware mappings is now carrying over to version 6. It doesn't matter what my channel assignments are either.

Please don't bump an old topic from October 2010.
Mappers and other add-ons are only available to registered licensed users who have purchased the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
Besides, this controller is natively supported in the latest VirtualDJ Pro v7.0.5, so there is no need for any mapper (Unless you wish to customise the functions.)
Please try it in the latest Home FREE http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html for 10 minutes at a time and then if you like the software, please purchase it.
