Topic: Loops:- Drilling down and then letting rip (House Music)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi

Just a little advise please.

i love the effect of having a loop at 4 beats, then drilling down to 2, then 1, then 1/2, then 1/4.

But i'm then finding it hard cutting to straight from it and into a mad part (you know what i mean)

I can't do this on the song itself, even if i start the loop immediately before the active decks 'mad part', when you start drilling down the loop, you're pulling the loop further and further away from the 'mad part'

What do you guys normally do, do you setup a cue point at the 'mad part' and jump from the loop to that cue point?

Try this in LOOP OUT:

While your on loop, activate loop out > hit 16 loop > affect for about 4 counts > and deactivate loop out > you can jump cue point at end of affect.

You can even try the DOUBLE affect: same process as above

i get what u mean, what u hav 2 do is cue the beginning of the "mad part" and hit the 4 beat loop , then drill it down and when ur ready 2 jump into the mad part use the cue toolbar to select the cue at the beginning of the mad part and it shud jump into it.
takes practice but sounds great,
cheers,
boll
