cannonball: you could try one of the firewire ones by M-Audio they all use the same driverbase so there should be no probs

i have always had good experiences with M-Audio products, but i will first try the new asio-settings as soon as i get home. thanx 4 the tip Djzero ;)

if it doesn't work, i want to know for sure if my next soundcard will be supported by VDJ in at least 4 channels in Asio-mode (and a low latency will be nice as well).

I'm pretty charmed by the specs of the Terratec Aureon 7.1 FireWire:

* 8 analog Outputs (Cinch) 24 bit/192 kHz
* analog stereo Line Input (Cinch) 24 bit/96 kHz
* Phono Input stereo (Cinch) with Hardware RIAA and 24 bit/96 kHz
* Headphones Output (6.3mm Jack) with Volumecontrol (24bit/192 kHz)
* Microphone Input (6.3mm Jack) with Gain Control and Peak LED (24bit/96 kHz)
* Optical Digital S/P DIF Input (TOS Link) 24 bit/96 kHz
* Optical Digital S/P DIF Output (TOS Link) 24 bit/96 kHz
* Non Audio output on digital Output (AC-3)
* IEEE-1394 compliant Interface for PC/Mac (FireWire™)
* Hot plugging capable
* Buspowered
* optional external power supply
* ASIO 2.0 Support for all In- and Outputs
* IR remote control with application

it even has a Phono-input! ;-p
does anyone know it thisone works witj VDJ in Asio-mode?

Also the M-Audio 410 Firewire is pretty neat:

• 4 x 10 FireWire audio-interface
• 192-kHz stereo-uitvoer
• 2 x 8 24-bits/96-kHz analoge I/O (1/4-inch TS)
• Dubbele voorversterking voor microfoon/instrumenten (Neutriks XLR/ 1/4-inch TS)
• Geheel uitgerust met fantoomvoeding
• 66 dB gain via voorsterking
• S/PDIF digitale I/O (coax/optisch) met 2-kanaals PCM
• Digitale I/O-ondersteuning voor AC-3 surround-codering en DTS-doorvoer
• 1 x 1 MIDI I/O met bypass voor stand-alone gebruik
• 2 Koptelefoonuitgangen met afzonderlijke volumeregelaars (1/4-inch TRS)
• Stereo-monitor volumeregelaar
• Software-monitoring vrijwel zonder vertraging
• Directe hardware-monitoring
• 8 Analoge uitgangen voor directe aansturing van 7.1-surroundsystemen
• Software-gestuurde mix en routing
• Softwarematig aanwijsbare niveauregelaar
• Stroomvoorziening via gelijkstroomadapter of FireWire-aansluiting*
• Twee makkelijk toegankelijke aansluitingen voor hogesnelheids-FireWire
* 6-Pens FireWire-aansluiting vereist

but is a little expensive 499 euro :-s

comparing all specs to eachother, i went for the Echo - Indigo DJ.

is saves me 1 device to carry with me because it is pcmcia, fully ASIO2.0 suported, ultra-low latency and it has a singal/noise ratio of 111db!

i just placed an order buying one. i hope to get it soon ;)

My gawd ;( ASIO support stinks. It only uses 44.1. My whole studio is 48, and I have to keep switching to use VDJ. Then about 3 songs into a mix, it starts to crackle. change the latncy from 10 to 50 with the same response.

Why not program the program to allow for different clocks, and add a "ASIO control panel" option like Ableton and Cakewalk???

Great program though. Just purchased it, but I would like to be able to do all my mixing via ASIO, (headphone out to 1/2, mains out to 3/4 etc.) to send to the mixer for recording.

Any future marriage for VDJ and ASIO?

Asio support in VDJ doesn't stink, IT ROCKS!
Get yourself a soundcard which is fully qualified for Asio 2.0. I have a "Echo - Indigo DJ" i have used it on several gigs in Asio-mode without ANY problems/glitches.

VDJ seems to handle Asio very well, providing superb crystal clear sound if you ask me.

i think you have a problem with your soundcard drivers, don't blame vdj.

I know, the waveterminal is a respected piece of audio-hardware. Though i find it hard to believe that VDJ doesn't handle it's asio2.0 drivers that well.

maybe you should send an email to supportstaff

Did that months ago, I was told to use it in wdm mode, kinda like a corvette with an automatic transmission don't you think. I can't believe it either I have to buy a mya 44 for it to work right I guess. Its a shame because I like my 6 outputs.

How does Maya EX5 stack up against EX7. Is it worth the extra wonga. Currently use on board sound card but I need a bit better clarity
