Basically Im using stems and I want gain to be gain, Hi to be stem instru, mid to be stem bass and low to be stem kick and hihat and filter to remain filter. I have a flx10. Can I do this or I can only stick to the 4 EQ options ?

VDJ allows one to set any knob to what ever stem (or combo) you wish.

Just create a new mapping for your FLX4, (so you can always return to your current mapping) and define the knob's mappings for:
EQ_HIGH
EQ_MID
EQ_LOW
to the stems you desire.

note: they will currently be mapped to, for example EQ_HIGH = eq_high

where eq_high is a place holder for the EQ determined by choice of a VDJ EQ setup, ie Frequency, EZ_Remix, ModernEQ or Dual Inside or Dual Outside. (the eq_mode)

change the mapping from eq_high to stem 'Instru' for example.

see the action/verb stem for a complete description of the possible stems and combos.

and if the already aggregated stem combos are not enough, ie Rhythm = HiHat and Kick,
you can group any stems combos, to a knob, (its mapping) by using a "&" for each stem that you wish the knob to control.

what eq_mode are you currently using?

I tried that and it doesnt work. I put eq_high at stem_instru for instance, not working. And it keeps disappearing it's like it really doesnt want to be that.

for the FLX4's mapping of EQ_HIGH, try as suggested stem 'Instru'

see the stem verb for it's how the stem verb is setup.

"stem_instru" is NOT valid

also click the save icon/button to save your changes, after modifying the mapping.

stem

Change the amount of a stem in the mix. Stem names are: "HiHat", "Vocal", "Instru", "Bass", "Kick", or you can use aggregate stems: "Melody" (Instru+Bass), "Rhythm" (HiHat+Kick), "MeloVocal" (Melody/Vocal), "MeloRhythm" (Melody/Rhythm). To get kill on left side and isolate on right side of the slider, you can use "FullVocal", "FullMelo" and "FullRhythm" To map a slider to always control the equalizer, regardless of EQ mode, you can use "stem FreqHi", "stem FreqMid", and "stem FreqLo"

hope that helps !

Thank you very much! I will apply those changes shortly and will report back with results.
