Topic: New stems
I am looking at a computer to purchase so I can use the stems. The one I'm looking at is AMD Ryzen 7-4700H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, Windows 10)

Or
One that has Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080
Will these be enough for the new stems 2.

Minimum Requirements

Intel® i5™, AMD Ryzen 7 or better
Multi-channel soundcard
8 GB RAM or more

Windows 10 64-bit or newer
NVIDIA video card (GTX 1050 or above, RTX recommended)
or AMD video card (Radeon RX 5600 XT or better)

I'm sure Adion commented the other day that it's the (lack of) VRAM rather than the GPU causing the issue.

Glad i read this, just bid on a laptop with a rtx 3050ti. I would have been mad.

What about the rtx 3050 not ti just rtx 3050

The "TI" ones are superior than the plain ones. I had that 3050TI weeks ago and not worked for me. I'm currently on a RTX 3070TI 8GB 130W and with a lot of tweakings does the job (more or less), but wish I have choosen a superior RTX with 16GB of VRAM.
Nvidia current line of RTX is a chaos, so better than purchase the card for the denomination take a look at the VRAM and the power supply that carries (60w, 80w, 100w, 130w, 150w...), there are many differences amongst the common mobile ones vs Founders Editions vs the desktop ones. Just to ilustrate that point many 3070Ti works faster than a few 3080 due that power issues.

So its not about the brand its about vram and power. if that's the case would the minimum be 8gb vram and 60w?

the brand matters, nvidia [currently] have the best AI libraries [like drivers but not drivers] they make it easiest for AI tasks [to write code for]

*massive oversimplification

If you find one with 6GB VRAM that should be fine too.
The memory usage also depends on the drivers, and therefore varies a bit per model/brand.
Basically, for GTX 4GB VRAM is needed, for RTX 6GB VRAM is needed.

My Dell laptop has a RTX3060 limited to 60w and that runs stems 2.0 in real time without any issue.

how long before the GTX cards are no longer usable? Because I have a chance to grab a lappy at a great price but it has a gtx1650ti.

??????

how about the gtx 1660 ti its 6gb?

For current quality stems a gtx will probably still work for a while.
Whether the next improvement will require better hardware or not we can't say yet.
