I have to say, the transition from VDJ7 to VDJ 8 has not been easy for me. I've already received a lot of valuable help from the members here, and I'm VERY thankful for it. I'm still in need of more advice. I don't mean any of this to seem like a "gripe", but genuinely looking for help. Thanks in advance!
1) In transfer from 7 to 8, I lost some cue points. I generally set 5-10 cues per song. Most of them are there, but every once in a while, I have a song that is missing a couple of the cues set in VDJ7. Strange. Any advice?
2) The beatgrid and cue points are not in the right position for a majority of the songs. I realize this has been discussed before, but is there a common solution to this? Will it be best to return to VDJ7 until the developers have worked out this kink? Most of my time preparing for DJing is spent beatgridding, marking CUES, listening. If these are lost...what is the point?
3) When adjusting my beatgrid, some of the changes don't save the next time I open up VDJ. This has been a huge pain. In preparation for the New Year's Eve party at my residency tonight, I fixed hundreds of songs this week. When I started up VDJ this afternoon, most of the beatgrid changes were gone (BPMs and cues were intact). Is it possible that there is some kind file permission at work here?
4) I sure do miss the older waveform layout. VDJ had long waveforms (similar to CDJ screen), and plenty of room for track names above the waveform. On VDJ8, I have to wait for the song title to scroll, which can be quite a pain when I'm playing a quick edit that transitions.

in regards to #3 this happens to me from time to time .. i find it happens if i edit a tag just before or after i edit the beat grid i know its not a solution but i try not to do those things at the same time and i have had much better luck with the grid holding. i reported it in the past but it seemed i was the only one so i don't know it if was ever found to be a bug.
#4 you could try out some of the other skins different layouts will give more room for tag info my personal fav at the moment is silversleek 2 -> http://www.virtualdj.com/plugins/index.html?addonid=80243
