I agree.... a lot of the same issues here.

The VDJ team knows that there is issue's and I believe they are working on it. Have you put in a ticket? My thought is that with enough tickets, they'll dedicate more resources to the problem. I also suspect that there might be a fundamental issue with VDJ and the way the DDJ SX works. My bet is we won't see a fix until VDJ 8 comes out.

I have never put in a ticket, virtual dj has always worked for me with my hardware, but this is so frustrating! I do not want to use Serato !!!! Anwways, what do I need to do to file a ticket? thanks in advance

have to say that in my limited play time today on the VDJ stand at BPM, with the SX and V8, it seemed to run flawlessly.. :-).
i would have like to have had a little more time to "Tune" it to my liking, but was a little rushed on rotations..

Well, try playing a 6 hour set in a club with it not having fader/volume/slider/platter response , or lagged response.

@ Roy, it was good, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151824763114729 only had 25 mins.. :-( you should have a lot more time tomorrow... everyone seemed to want to crowd in around 3pm today, so time got a little limited.. not really aided with having to switch gear out for "Individual" sets, .... i can understand some people feel more confident maybe with their own gear..... but i found it easier and would have given everyone a bit more time if they just brought the tunes..... the tools on the table to play with were awesome.. :-)
@Burnyabad - i feel for ya, and for the others who are having issues, but i don't have the unit, "Yet" :-).. so can only really comment on what i have seen and used today, the response was great on all, no lag, super smooth, although a little quick on jogs, filters "Wow", eq, all on point and really helps emphasize the mix.. :-) Sound: well it was running through an awesome FBT PA, Chest / Hurts / Pound / and was running on V8, ......................................
although one of the boys on earlier than me, had his own laptop, running V7.4 he didn't seem to have any trouble. he was up there for over an hour..

I don't believe the ddj sx has issues on every set up, and there might be slight variations in the internal components from one unit to the next. I think it also depends on how you mix. I scratch drop my tracks in a lot.If I just use a hot cue it's less noticeable. I really have major kag when cutting and scratching.

thank you for the response. My issues are with the controls ( volume/gain) not working or working sporadically. Having to go from 6am position to a 10 pm position, and then back to say, 12 am on your volume controls (plural) to get the volume/gain to respond is just rediculous

No issues with the DDJ-SX and VDJ here. Have been using it for months now two or three gigs a week. Most in excess of 8 hours + and flawless.

please PLEASE tell me how you configured it

Are you on a Mac or a PC?
I run mine on a Mac and running smooth with VDJ. 8+ hours at a time.

Sounds like you have your settings messed up. Config/options look at how you have set the options on the right. I had similar issues before with having things set wrong there.

PC, and it seems that it's the PC's that have all the issues

In config / option take a look if Auto gain is disabled.

This is normal and is called soft-takeover and applies to most MIDI controllers: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Soft%20Take-over%20or%20Non-MIDI%20Mixer.html
Without this, if the software and hardware control positions don't match, then you will get a sudden jump when you move slider, which for volume and gain would result in an immediately increase or decrease in volume appropriately. You will get a mismatch if you are using the layers to switch between two decks on the same side for 4 deck mixing.
Gain is also automatically determined by VirtualDJ during initial song analysis (When you load it for the first time or pre-analyse your music collection.) Once set correctly for a song, there should be no need to adjust it. Don't use gain to try to compensate for a sound system that's not loud enough or you will get 'pumping' with the built-in limiter enabled or distortion otherwise. HINT: You could change its mapping from gain_slider to gain_relative so that it adjusts relative to the knob movement rather than the knob's absolute position.

changing to gain relative seems to have worked, but right jog wheel is back to not scratching.
