Most likely you are trying to use your controller with the Home Free version, which only allows controllers to operate for 10minutes each time you relaunch the software.
If your controller didnt come with a VirtualDJ LE version then you will need to purchase a Plus, a Pro Infinity or a Subscriber license in order to use it properly... http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
