A few days earlier, one of VirtualDJ's users sent us a ticket asking if VirtualDJ could automatically fix broken links in all playlists.

Seeing this as a great feature, I created a tool that will fix all playlists using VirtualDJ's database.

How to use it:

1. Select VirtualDJ's main folder

2. Select the Playlists you would like to check/fix

3. Click on "Check playlists" or "Fix playlists"

Please note that a backup of all playlists is created in the same folder as the playlists.

This tool should soon be available on this page: http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/tools.html

Meanwhile, you can download it directly from my website: http://www.jeremieleroy.com/products.php#VirtualDJPlaylistFixer

In Phantom's app, the playlists are checked to find dead links, but they are not fixed automatically.

And this app is totaly free!

@JeremK

Available but I had an exception during my tests:

"An exception of class NilObjectionException was not handled. The application must show down."

after selecting the VDJ folder in a folder where is nothing and then by clicking on check playlist

Jerem,

1. If a playlist contains files from both external and internal HDs (databases), is there an option to retrieve those files ?
2. My Playlist folder had a subfolder but your Tool didnt see them. VirtualDJ alllows subfolders in that directory. I think it would be better if we could choose a folder with playlists regardless is that is the Virtualdj folder or if that folder is named as Playlists or not.

1. First perform a fix using the external database, then perform a fix using the internal database.

2. Fixed :)
New version is being uploaded right now.

That's a great tool Jeremie, can it be modified to run on history playlists too?

Thanks

So far this has all beehn on external.playlist files. Any chance you could fix virtual folders too?

I was half way through writing this myself ;-)

Cheers,

Writing to the database is tricky but I will add it ;)

In simple terms it's a string search and replace, so not really messing with the database as such ;-)

Not as simple as that, some characters aren't written as plain text in the database.

1) An unhandled exception occured after clicking Check Playlists With search Local Database (no crash with external Database)

ClipBoard Paste gives:

Please send this information to the developer. (Text is in ClipBoard)
Version 1.2.0.12

2) You should rename the button "Check Playlist" by "Check Files" or "Check Filenames"
