Is Sammie gonna be backin you up on this vid too Huey? ;0)

Huey,

I had the chance to handle one in person the other day (display model not plugged in). I have to say it looks like a tight unit but was a bit disappointed with the deck configurations on the right. It's the exact same as the left which might be a difficult thing to get used to as the pitch slider is on the inside and I really enjoy the mirror image style deck on the right. You may not have even thought about is since you are so used to standard TT's.

Either way, I still want to see the video!

I love my mixdeck too

Ok heres a quick video of my thoughts on the MixDeck, I will go back a make a better one. I'll have my son be my camera man again, lol!

Any questions, just hit me up.

Thanx for finally posting that vid Huey! That gives me a lil more insight. I'm a bit disappointed with the scratch in midi mode but like your solution.

Big Props on the vid

*UPDATE* I had the opportunity to purchase one of these for $350 barely used/2 months old. Played with it, didn't realize the mixer was analogue which messed me up when I switched to PC mode. That was the one thing that kept me from purchasing it.

Nice! But why does the mixer need to be MIDI if you don't mind me asking :-)

That's was a great deal though!
Huey

It didn't have to be midi, but it would have been a nice all-in-one solution for me and I would have preferred a midi/analogue mixer so that I didn't have to switch between the software mixer and the mixdeck mixer for things like bass kills for example. I also wanted to combine it with my Vestax to have true 4 channel mixing on VDJ but will probably end up buying the Dennon MC6000 instead.

Without your video I wouldn't have even considered the unit seriously. So a big thanx for that!! I learned something too which is always a good thing.

Yeah I feel ya there. Atleast if there gonna continue to make all in ones make the crossfader MIDI that way its not a pain to mix videos, lol!

Respect

I used a mixdeck this past summer on Fri nights and loved it. I wanted one til I saw the NS6 and CDMP-7000. I think these with take the concept to a new level, I am patiently waiting.....

Yeah that CDMP-7000 is in my cross hairs, but again the mixer section isn't MIDI. They say you can scratch in MIDI mode so thatsa plus. Plus it does look sexy and it has a 3rd channel. Just gotta find one I can test out first or find a store that'll let me return it if I'm disappointed in it. Either way I love my Mixdeck.

Funny story well not really. Don't buy a ___ cases, they are cheaply made and the unit will slide around in the case even with the lid on! I thought I'd save some money but I sent it back and just ordered the black odessy flight. Pm me for the name of the other case company cause I don't wanna just put them out there like that.

Huey

Wait, the mixer section of the CDMP-7000 is not midi? In that case I am getting the NS6.

Nope its not...............someday somewhere someone will get it right, I hope........

Lol

Maybe, Would love to be able to play cds for backup yet everything be midi. Mixdeck has a cd player but no midi, NS6 has midi but no cds, CDMP-700 has cd but no midi, Can I get an all in one with cds and midi. Is it that hard?

Hahaa! If a company did that Jim they would raise to the top and never sell anything again because it would answer everyone's prayers, lmao!
How hard can it be to atleast make thecrossfader MIDI??? That's really all I want to be MIDI and that's just for video. Calling all engineers and hardware makers, we want an all in one unit with a MIDI/ANOLOG MIXER!!

We can dream can't we

Throw a couple of CDXs inside that NS6 and there is your solution. Maybe NAMM 2012?

Sounds good to me lol

Ok I love my Mixdeck with VDJ but I just installed the Traktor program that came with my NI Audio 8 card and I can SCRATCH with Traktor.............what the heck is goin on here?? I have sat around for days messing with the VDJ settings and nothing, not even close to being able to scratch!! What is the difference here?? Can Chris (CSTOLL) help out with this. Your the hardware guy. I was under the impression that it had to do with the hardware (Mixdeck) itself but that doesnt seem to be the case here. I only installed the LE version so theres no way for me to adjust the Traktor settings and I can scratch...........

Please tell me what is going on here, , DJCyder anybody, I'm desperate, LOL!

Umm ..........wouldn't it be the same as vinly timecodes Charlie?? Not all cdj's can be used as midi controllers.

Huey

No I don't think it's the same, at least with vinyl it was like the real thing. If you were going to use CDJ then why not just use a midi controller!
