Hi All,
Right now I have a Rane Empath mixer. . . . I am considering moving to a USB mixer but my criteria is Needs to be 3 channels, have a booth out for my wireless speaker setup, fit in a coffin case and a CLEAR Mic engagement.
The issues I run into with Numark, Gemini, Denon, etc. . is that when you engage the microphone it comes with the traditional HIIISSSSSS over the speakers.
Just looking for some input and advice from you guys on the board.
Price really isn't an option since I paid $1500 for my Rane Empath already.

I know there is a few guys around here that use the Korg Zero 4 and Ecler nuo5 (I think that's what its called, lol). As far as the microphones go im sorry I can't be more help. Maybe a moderator could change the title of the thread to" Usb or Midi Mixers with Great Mics". You might get more replies. Just my thoughts.

I have the Korg Zero4, here are my thoughts.
* Uses a Firewire connection, not USB.
* Really cool effects, multiple layers for each channel
* Mic works good, can use effects on your voice as well.
* Like the option to select which channels use MIDI
* Mic input also doubles as a guitar input
* No seperate Mic controls, uses any one of the 4 channels. No instant hiss as your using the slider and seems clean overall, even at volume.
* Headphone output too low, I use an external headphone amp
* Don't care for how the Sampler works
* Not a common layout size (12x16), finding cases is a little harder.
Overall, I like the mixer and thought it would end up near the top after a few years development, apparently Korg didn't feel the same way...
For me, this will probably end up being used more as a studio mixer and I will probably get a Rane SL57 or Sixty-Eight to give me more options when playing out.

I´m using a Denon DN-X1600 for events and in clubs and at home Mackie d.2 with Firewire card for ripping Vinyl (because it´s the mixer with the best sound I ever heard :o)

Jeremy,
Don't you use Bose L1's? Have you tried the T1? I love it.
$499
Incredible sound card. 4 programmable inputs. Clear mics, great effects. Back lit. fits in the palm of my hand.

How about an Allen & Heath Xone:42?
OK it's four channel, but it has USB - the Xone:32 doesn't.

Stereo out and stereo in seems like a sound card to me!
Besides, he asked about USB mixers and didn't specify any sound card ability.
:-D

I do use bose, but I'm a coffin case mixer guy. . . Still looking for a midi mixer to go with vdj. . . this is a hard choice because I don't want to drop the money on one to find out it's not what I want.
lost still.
