I was sleeping in a taxi when I first heard it. Woke me right up. It pains me to know that we will never hear his incredible voice again. Feels like today, we lost the 'M' in Music.

Rest in peace Michael. Thank you for the decades of awesome music!

Marksmolinski,

I'm glad you didn't put THE BEATLES in that "just a band" list, I would have had to hunt you down and KILL YOU!

:^)

Michael Jackson Rest in Peace... you were a legend

@ djfrochocr

get your facts straight before you accuse someone, i cannot edit posts, yes people are entitled to there opinions and i asked in an earler post at the beginning of this thread if anyone wants to lambast the fellow to do it somewhere else, but you chose to ignore that to which i have no power or any incling to edit,

I've been doing a tribute for the last almost 2 hours, look at my playlist here...

This School District gig I'm doing has people from age 9 to 79 and I was playing everything but when the news got around everyone asked me to play MJ stuff and I'm still going. At the same time I've been playing video clips with Ed Mc Mahon, Farrah and MJ plus MJ videos.

The wonders of modern technology, thanks VDJ!

Dont Edit my post again TAYLA ... Thanx... Respect each other opinions please... not every died person was good ...

I'm very sad. He was one of the best Pop star this time and all time. :-(

This is not a put down on Michael, I was a fan.

I know his popularity in recent has remained much higher outside the US especially in Europe. Anytime and every time I played a MJ song for the past several years I always got a few boos and jeers from the audience which made me uncomfortable to say the least.

I hope in his death people will put all the "other stuff" aside and appreciate him for his music.

Renee, apparently that is already happening, no only am I playing MJ music non-stop at the request of the people here but I'm hearing that radio stations and MTV are playing his music a lot too. This of course is to be expected. The final state of his life was undoubtedly a sad one and his recent fate doesn't surprise me or probably anyone else for that matter.

Since when does MTV play music? Oh you mean back in the day.

Fact: "Billie Jean" is considered the video that brought MTV, a relatively unknown music channel, into mainstream attention. It was the first video by a black artist to be aired by the channel, as they felt black music wasn't "rock" enough.

Truly a sad day for all music lovers everywhere. My heart is broken ;(
