Not totally true.
Vdj will play mp4a not mp4p files.
Contrary to what many believe you can use some itunes content inside VDJ. You just have to get them from the itunes plus section.

so whats the diff btwn mp4a and mp4p? what do the 'a' and 'p' stand for? is there any main reason why one plays on vdj and the other does not? is there an encoder to switch p's to a's?

P's are protected mp4 that are only playable in itunes or on an ipod. The A's are the regular tracks that you either ripped yourself or got from itunes plus.

Guys,
I use to use itunes a while back. That's the main reason I don't use it, especially if you are doing live recording. I even stripped from my computer & purchase my downloadable drm free music from other sites.
It has its place, but I believe not for DJing.
For what it's worth.

hola,
I had this same issue. What I did was burn the ITUnes purchased music to audio cd.
Then I re-imported the tunes, worked out fine.
When burniing to audio cd, track names and info does not register so you manually have to add that on, on re-import.
Hope this helps.
