This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I just dropped like 1300 bucks on a technics digital turntable, firewire 410 soundcard, and a mixer. I get the asio function of virtual dj to work. It goes from the turntable (rca to line on the soundcard) and from line to rca on my mixer. Can someone please help? Also, even if all this stuff did work, how does my mixer control the fader on virtual dj?

The firewire form M-AUDIO is a 4 in 10 out sound module(2 outs deck 1,2outs deck 2)
Just assign in advanced config your two decks to your mixer
then you can cue up whatever you like thru the mixer
Your mixer channel level will control the fader for sound but the crossfader has to be controlled with your keyboard, mouse or external controller like djconsole....etc

What version do you have?

Yep, make sure you use the Advanced Config. There you will see that it says ASIO inputs in the drop down menus for each deck. Using the Asio menu in the sound card config did not work for me. "Asio" and "Advanced Config" are two different menus under sound cards.

Here is a good example of how to set up your cables:
