Hi All

Can anyone recommend any software that can organise my music collection.

All my music is in one folder and i would like a programme to automatticly organise my music into various folders for artist / year / generics etc

Thanks

itunes

@hardingncik

i have all my tunes and music videos in one folder and it works well for me, programmes like itunes and many other services work well for artist title and year, but as far as categorising genres what is one mans pleasure is anothers poison, namely you may get a tune listed as say rnb but for me that same tune could be listed as rnb/dance if it is an uptempo tune or rnb/dance/mix if it has been re-done or is a cover of the same tune.

so basically i would leave the genre details to yourself, it is time consuming i know as i've been there, but at the end of the day you will know that your search will bring up exactly what your looking for ie: artist/title or genre then you can select on your browser descending by year etc,

try media monkey or rapid evolution

as far as genre ....... what Tayla said

use the virtual folders , i have over a hundred .......

save playlists , great way to save a good nights work , or to make good lists to refer back to , filled with trax in the same genre or bpm

i agree with chuck... virtual folders and playlists are great.....
yes.. you may have to sit down and go through organizing your files manually... quite a bit of work
but worth it in the long run....

Remember when sorting you may need to keep them files on one drive.. so you dont lose your bpms, cues, keys etc

Filter folders is the best invention since sliced bread.

Want some real sorting? Use Filter Folders.

Hi I'm New to Virtual DJ thinking of purchasing, I have draged music into the Playlist , but how do I manage to make it play continuous, i.e play all the tracks, any help much appreciated... thanks

well you could put it on automix..

I organize music myself. i dont let any programs do it for me. It takes a while but its worth it.
