I have been using the Hercules sound Card as it is convienient to have everything in one unit. Is this a decent sound card or should I be using a different sound card to improve my sound? How would it improve?

The herc mk2 and the rmx is a mid-range quality soundcard. If can be decent enough for the sound quality with proper setting but if u using timecodes n do some scratching it best to invest better soundcard such as the audio8 etc.

well hercules won't be much help for software higher than vdj 3.4, so forget tech support
sound card.. i say it's awesome. it's been working for me since i first started with vdj.
controller buttons die out after long usage. really hard to press play now.
if you're a starter, then i would definitely recommend hercules. you can easily pay it off with 1 or 2 dj events.
never touched rmx, but i hear lots of great stuff from it. the wheel is said to have improved.
that's my 2 cents.

Hercules rmx sound quality breaks up after the gains are turned up past half way and the sound isn't that loud, you need powerful amps with this controller.

I only use the Hercules to fade the video and the audio with virtual DJ. I turned off most of the other buttons and use a Numark controller for play etc..
I have noticed that I have to turn up the gains on my mixer more then my CD players when using the Hercules sound card. However nothing is distorted unless I increases the Hercules EQ or turned the gain up in Virtual using for an individual song.

What is overclock and what advantage would I have by having it ticked? Should I un-tick it?
