Installation :
1- Uninstall the previous driver version: to do so, click Start/Settings/Control Panel. Select the Add or Remove Programs icon, then uninstall Hercules DJConsole Series drivers. Alternatively, you can simply launch this package: it will uninstall the previous drivers for you.
2- Restart your PC.
3- Launch this package to install the new drivers.
4- At the end of the installation, you may be prompted to update your firmware version if you have not already updated it. Please be sure to strictly follow the on-screen instructions for this very important procedure.
5- You are now ready to use your DJ controller.
(all you had to do is to click the link, and there it is! magic?)

I would recommend you to do that.
Also take a system restore point! In that way you can roll back your system if you're not satisfied with the new driver package.
Btw, if you like the way your controller acts now, there's no reason to upgrade the driver. "Don't fix it if it ain't broke..."

to be totally honest i am just getting to grips with the rmx over the last few weeks but i must admit that when i first started out with the mk2 it had a more natural feel to the tempo and sound of the music and i find that things are a bit jumpy.
for instance i've had a deck drop out all of a sudden or pitchfaders that all of a sudden don't respond anymore while mixing and things like this
maybe also now it will be possible to switch between the asio and wdm settings as this wasn't possible so far as i know
So i'll try it out i think
But about this system recovery point you said
how would that work then? i never did anything like that before

I can't get this to work. I have been trying for sooooo long. New drivers, new laptop, new version of VDJ. Still get error in the sound driver of direct x when launching virtual. Someone please help. Here is my setup:
My PC:
Toshiba Satellite Laptop (A300D) with 3.0 Gb Ram Dual Core ~ 2.0 Ghz
dedicated 512 Mb video card
Direct X 10
Windows Vista Home Premium
The Device
Hercules DJ Console MK2
Driver: the one from this post(2008_HDJS_3)
Virtual DJ 5.2.1
Please someone help - I'm about to lose it as I have been trying to get this to work since the end of July!!

it just means the settings in sound set up have changed since you last used it, ie, not connected to a mixer etc.
