Oh, the 17" it's not updated? Damn

I really don't understand why they have removed the Firewire on the 13" MacBook!

It was too bad to see the new MacBook 13"without the Firewire port. Besides my USB Gigaport AG, I also use an Apogee Duet Firewire soundcard in my MacBook 13"

At http://www.apple.com/startpage/, Top Stories > New MacBook “a terrific choice for consumers and students”” dated October 24,2008, I have made some comments about the removal of the firewire connection in the new MacBooks.

Here is my post:
http://ptech.allthingsd.com/20081022/apple-polishes-popular-macbook-for-a-higher-price/?sr=hotnews

I am a pro musician and DJ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I use my MacBook with a Lacie firewire Hd and an Apogee Duet firewire soundcard.
It was too bad to see the new MacBook without the firewire connection. I am feeling forced by Apple to go now to the MacBook Pro in order to get the firewire port again. This means much more money I will have to spend. There are lots and lots of people not happy with what Apple did.

I love Apple ! I have two Macbooks, one MacMini and my wife has an iMac.

well I too was dis appointed about the no firewire. but how many remeber the no floppy drive issue. when mac first did that everyone boo'd and called it stupid. well honestly I see what they are doing they are adding another class to thier line up.... you have a Macbook for the 'middle class' the student/home user/proffessional the mac air is for the' web user' and the Macbook pro is for the 'serious proffessional'

Posting this now on the 2.53 Intel Core Duo Mac Book Pro with 4GB RAM and a 320GB 7200 RPM HD.

I am waiting for my music collection to copy over to the mac.

The machine is really superb..feally very solid in build and I am thrilled with it.
