Wasup everyone, I have searched all over this forum t find out anything on the issue I am having and no luck. I have VDJ 5 .2 pro running on a Dell Latitude D610, Numark Total Control, MK2 as my sound card.......this laptop is only used for VDJ and gigs......I am in the middle of learning/playing around in video mixing......the issue is I have some video files on my external HD, .avi, .mpg, even .vob files......but every time I start VDJ and go to my video folder, nothing comes up. VDJ does not even see the files that are in the folder. Any ideas?

Oh yeah btw, laptop is running Win XP.........

Have you tried highlighting the folder in the VDJ browser and clicking add to database? Also, once in a while my external HD will change drive letters.

well I tried what you said, but there is not add to database option when you highlight a folder in VDJ browser.
I have another laptop, Acer that runs Vista and all videos from same external HD comes up in VDJ......I also have another laptop with the same specs as the one having the issues and the videos show up on that one too.......what codecs does VDJ read from?

I got my Acer to and VDJ to read all codecs, .flv .vob and soo on. I will try out the Dell Laptops and see what happens.

Go to the configuration button in VDJ. It's in different places with different skins. Click on that and look on the screen for the codes tab, click and it show all the music and video codecs. Did you right click on the video folder? Maybe different skins react differently , not sure

Next to the search bar in VDJ there is 2 little circles, click on the one to the right and make sure Show Video is selected:)

Disco......man I feel like a friggin newbie.....lol.........that worked, I did not even notice that button there.....thanks a lot for all the help......

but now I have and issue with recording......if it aint one thing is the next.......does anyone know how VDJ uses video codec for recording. when I try to record video it tells me that the codec is not found.......
