Topic: Virtual Database! HELP Please!

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

When you first turn on Virtual DJ for the very first time. On our laptops the virtual database is saved onto the C drive the first time. However, i have some virtual folders saved on the external hard drive and some are on the C drive? How can i fix this problem. Not only this time but how do I keep this from happening again.

plug in your external hardrive then clear your database in vjd.then run a rescan adding bpm on vjd.eahc time you plug your ex hardrive into your laptop the songs will play no problen cause they are saved onto your database.hope this helps.im no expert but it worked for me.otherwise copy your hardrive onto your laptop then scan without your external plugged in

I'm not having a problem with the song not playing. I am having a problem when i plug my harddrive into another laptop, my virtual folders are not showing up. I think the problem is because the virtual folder is first created on the C drive when you first install vdj. I am trying to figure out how to stop that from happening. I want to be able to take my laptop and plug into any computer and see my virtual folders, but the way it is setup right now, i can not do this. Do you have any ideas?

Your hard drive is probably coming up as a different drive letter for the other computer.
