Was playing around with VDJ and trying to get the program to output video to a TV with limited outputs (s-video being one of them). It didn't detect a separate screen - just the "Window" option. I could do clone, extended screen, but not a separate output on the TV. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Also, I couldn't find a way to have it automatically continue playing down the list of songs on my playlist - only automix would keep the music going.

To have music automatically play from your play list, is exactly what Automix is used for. Check the user guide for the various automix options and set it to how you want the music automatically played.

It took a couple of goes but i got there in the end. you need to set your display settings correctly. Plug in your tv via S-Video and open up your display settings. You should have 2 monitor boxes shown. They should show 1 and 2. If it shows 1 and 1 you need to change this, can't remenber how but play around with it. Click on the no 2 montior box and click extend the desktop to this monitor and click ok. Open up VDJ and go into config and Video and you should now have the 2 options Window and the name of either your graphics card or graphics chipset. Choose the 2nd option and then click ok. Now try playing the video and it should show on the 2nd screen.
Any probs just message back and i will look into it more

Doesn't the demo version only allow windowed output?

Thanks all for the help.
I know what you are talking about with the 1 and 2 settings but this computer I am using has a GeForce 7 and its drivers don't have that setting. The only available options are in the NVIDIA Control Panel, under "Set up multiple displays", and after playing around with that, I never quite got the VDJ output (in any of the available settings - clone, extended...). When set in the single display, the option to modify the primary display was grayed out, even when the S-video connection was in place.

As stated, the demo version doesn't allow this feature...

Greetings all,
I have been experiencing with a couple demo versions of some digital mixing software and have found that I enjoy Virtual DJ the best and I am in the midst of purchasing it but I wanted to get an answer from something first before I out the funds.
I have a Dell Laptop, specifically a Inspiron 6000, that has a S-Video output and I wanted to make sure that it is possible to output just the video portion of the mixing and not the complete window for I don't want to advertise all of my background applications. I am hoping that someone can tell me whether it can or cannot work that way and how to do it. Just so I have it going forward and I know that it wont work in the trial version for it seemed like it was established already. I am a novice computer guy and I am just getting into the digital wave and could use some guidance.
Thank you all...

csimpson,
Yes it is possible to output only the video through your s-video output on your laptop. You can set that in the preferences for VIRTUAL DJ under CONFIG->VIDEO->TV OUTPUT.
That should work, otherwise you can drag the video window over from your laptop to the TV and resize and relocate it so that it takes up the entire TV. Thats the worst case scenario, but you won't see any of your desktop.
As with most S-VIDEO outputs makes sure the laptop is connected via S-VIDEO cable and the TV is switched on and on the S-VIDEO input BEFORE you turn the computer on. The computer will need to find the TV, and it must be connected and turned on before the computer is powered on.
Good Luck!

Hey, great note on the S-Video option. I did not know the PC had to be off and the TV on to have that work! I just a bone head! WOW never that could been the prob! Thanks for the advice!
