Topic: a little help?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

yes i know some of this has been covered in other areas, but i got nowhere searching the forums for what i was looking for.

1 - using an older and newer version of vdj one the same computer, without screwing up the database, history, playlists, etc.. how do i do it and has anyone had negative issues doing it? i know part of it involves renaming the .exe but cant remember the exact way to do it.

2 - slow loading of an audio track while also running video. the video loads fast on deck A, and the song loads at a crawl on deck B. someone covered a fix for this for me a few months ago but i havent been able to dig up the thread.

and if anyone knows where i can pick up a cheap cg generator for throwing graphics up on the screens that would be a bonus.

thanks

will keep trolling for the others.

Your welcome dude.

I have V3.4 and V5.0.2 on the same machine with no problems at all. Both databases are intact.

What version do you have now? That will help us to answer what you need to do to load both versions.

took the plunge.
installed 5.1 and am now not even sure which rev it was, but dont care right this second. did manage to screw myself over on one minor issue but i know what i did and have to change it back on my own. other than that just gonna muddle on through.

but if i can re-install 3.4 just in case don't i have to change the .exe so it doesnt install over the version i just put in there?

You would have to install in a different file path.

When you get to the part where it says what folder it will install into, simply hit browse and add 3.4 onto the end. this will create a new filepath that v3.4 will install into leaving your new version alone and you will have both the new and old version on the same machine.

yeah, pretty much too late unless i roll back the system, or if it re-install 3.4

it still blows my mind some of the changes this software has been through in the last couple of years. can't say i like all of them, but it's still the most versatile of all the rest out there.
