My Numark Total Control came with an optional power supply. My Numark DJ|IO didn't come with one.
Question: should I buy a P/S for the IO? Or should I use the one from the NTC?

I use the power supply with my TC..the DJ i/o seems to run ok without it. I believe the LEDs on the TC have a lot to do with power consumption Chris...but I could be wrong, after all,.....I'm just a caveman...

You only need use the power supplies if your computer does not supply enough power via usb.
All modern computers will be able to supply a standard current.
A regular USB port has four pins: two for 5V DC power (with a tolerance of 5%) and ground, and two for data.
The maximum current available is 500mA which is more than enough for the TC and the IO.
