I am very happy my Denon DN-HC4500 controller is finally supported in the mac version of the new virtual DJ v5.2.1.
But i need some help before i can switch to mac totally. I seem to be missing some information or driver (asio for mac?) to split the outgoing signal from my DN-HC4500 to channel 1 & 2 on my external mixer. Till now i used VDJ on windows with my DN-HC4500 and had no problem configuring it. Can anyone please gimme a hint?

thx. You made me win a pancake with icecream. A DJ collegae of mine was 100% sure there would be a asio driver like there is for using our denons under windows.
No way i said, 99% sure of what i said.

thx for writing this info on the wiki.
day after tomorrow, me and my collegae are meeting again trying to configure our macs and our denon's again with VDJ.

Just for keeping our investigation time limited and preventing getting nervous: How should the sound setup in VDJ be configured?
Outputs should be 'external mixer', that's obvious.
but which one to choose in the soundcard panel?
Something else we have to keep in mind?
Hope we finally can do our dj job this weekend with our (i)macs, VDJ and our new denons.
That would be a blessed weekend too.

f*ck, can't get it to work.
denon reacts fine, every buttons works, but i can't split the channel. Player a and b are on the same glider on my external mixer.
Somebody help please.
the guideline is not related to OSX leopard. No VDJ'ing tonight unless somebody here who figured it out guides me...

With the asio driver on windows it worked in a minute while traying to configer this Audio/midi aggregate device on mac makes me frustrated.
Disconnected the usb cable connection between my denon DN-HC4500 and my imac untill hopefully further support here.

the issue is that i don't understand what this aggregate device concept is all about.
Sure, it will be easy when done once.

can somebody imagine how much i am suffering with all this beauty here in front of me?
http://homepage.mac.com/bonifacius/dj/Facultyclub/discobar_in_faculty_club.html#5
LOL!
i am back on tractor and external usb audio card for the moment since i am unable to split the outgoing sound of VDJ to my external mixer.
Even after studying the 'how to setup' a dozen of times.
sorry :-(
So please, somebody here, guide me step by step please.

1 connect the denon with your imac using the usb cable
2 open the audio/midi configuration app.
3.....

in this way please please please.

To find the Audio Midi setup App that you can create the Aggregate. You nee to go Into Finder, go to App scroll down to the icon called Utilities, now, once In the Utilities page in Finder find the Icon that looks like a small keyboard called Midi Setup.

From there follow the instruction on how to create the aggregate souncard!

Look at the very top

click on the option Audio, there you will see the option Open Aggregate editor and follow It from there!

That' s the link from the Apple website on how to It below:

thx for the effort but i'm not making any progress. :-(
i made some screenshots: http://picasaweb.google.com/bonimacx/AddingAggregateDevice#

the problem is not finding the Audio setup App, the problem is how to configure an added aggregate device and in combination, how to configure the VDJ sound setup.
i studied this page http://www.apple.com/pro/techniques/aggregateaudio/ over and over again.

Man, what a struggle, i can't imagine that another macuser already made his DN-4500 work with an external mixer!
Is there a macuser on this forum with a DN-4500 who got it working on two diffirent channels of his external mixer, or am i the first trying this?

i feel very stupid guy's, but i can't help it. Will try all week to figure it out. Hoping next saturday finally being able to use it.

So, i added a aggregate device, but still not de desired result. What about the settings in VDJ sound set up? How should they be set correctly in combination with an aggregated device? I made a screenshot: http://picasaweb.google.com/bonimacx/AddingAggregateDevice#5245729638283523378
Damned, feel embarrassed to ask al these questions, but i really don't find by myself. it's pissing me off.

I can try any suggestion immediately since the denon is connected to my imac and my external mixer here at home.
Ichat & screensharing is also possible if there is a mac/denon user who has this working already.

i want to pay for helping me out!

i give up. whatever a tried (even made a second aggregate divice, named the first DN-HC4500 player A & the second DN-HC4500 player B), i can't get the outgoing signal split!
Player A & B keep on using line 1 out. :-(

Imacula,

You are almost there man. I will put different pics of your setups and compare them with my setup pics.

That' s one of your setup pics

That' s one of my setup pics

Now look closely, where Is that setup pic when you choose quad sound option instead of stereo?

That' s one of my pics

Lastly, In that pic of yours what you are doing Is wrong . You chose both soundcard as aggregate in Virtual DJ.

The correct way Is to choose the first soundcard as aggregate and the second card as 4500. If you follow my instruction correctly. You now have the sound split into two different channels on your mixer left and right.

Check those two last pics. Follow the setup for the Virtual DJ soundcard as Is, except that you would chose 4500.

Also, follow the Midi setup In Apple soundcard as Is, except that you will choose the 4500 instead of the 1200.

Those details Instructions should take you to the promise land! success! happy mixing.

I like the scenery of your club very much so lol.

i have no option to choose quad. I noticed that before.
http://picasaweb.google.com/bonimacx/AddingAggregateDevice?pli=1#5245860544334253250

this is only one controller, you have two separate fysical players. isn't that where the problem is?
Player A & B keep on using line 1 out. :-(

perfect, now In the four RC Outputs from the 4500 controller connect two RC white and red to one side of your mixer inputs and the other RCA output from the 4500 controller to the other side of your input mixer.

that's the way my 4500 is connected to my mac. i've been working already with VDJ on windows / bootcamp.
Now i hope to get it working on OSX, but for now the sound of the two denon players are coming out both through line out1
