have you ever been in da street n u here da cars wit em sound systems that you can here from a block away? well i dont get it........how come the cars seem to sound louder than a djs speakers and both with the same watts? for example a car will have a smalerl box with like two 12s n an amp lets say 1800watts n a dj will b carring larger speakers 1800watts and if you compare them i herd like the car sounded louder why is that?????????im confused...........plus the cars sound system cost less that a djs speakers???????????????//what the hells going on????......................btw i compared both outside...in a block party...against my friendz sound system n his car.

We use 2 QSC RMX 5050's for the subs. At 4 ohms they are rated at 5,000 watts each.
This is enough power to vibrate every screw lose from a 79 Ford Pinto to enclude the punk kid's tooth filling.
(The one who decided to subject all of us to his brand of music a block away.

Well the biggest difference is..try bringing a souped up Accord into a Venue for DJ use.....not too mention scratching on a steering wheel is a bit rough on the surrounding traffic....

DJ Gear is designed for road usage, setting up, tearing down, portability, etc. etc. Also the power consumption is different. Lots of those cars do have great sound systems..as long as your within a few feet...after that the sound begins to degrade and distort. DJ/Pro sound gear is designed to "throw" the sound over a larger area.

Next time you book a party invite your friend over with his car..try switching CDs and not loose the dance floor.......


Sure they are both sound devices..... and a Piper Cub and an F-15 are both air planes.....try and get the Cub to do a Mach 2 fly by and see how it goes....

It's all to do with size. The car cabin is small and it also acts like a cabinet in its own right this is why it sounds louder.
 
Sounding loud is a very different matter then sounding good.
