I tryed asking the support/Help people, but they dont seem to understand english very well. so maybe I can ask someone out there if they can help me. O.K. My computer got a really bad bug Virus the other day, so i had an IT tech from Dell.com help me get that Virus out, and redid the reinstallation of just about everything that has to do with the Dell computer that I have. Now the rest is up to myself and whom ever I can find to Help. Alright I down loaded virtualdj at least 6 to 7 times and I have it on my computer but when I load to drag a song at the end of the track as it appears at the top it moves left to right displaying the title of the song with this Error example [ Do that dam thing - Error]. This happened to me befor and somehow I fixed it. But that was a while ago and I cant remember hoe in the heck i did it. can someone help out.

The left to right motion is a feature that scrolls the title so that you can read the whole thing - that's normal.
The error, however, is obviously not normal. Is it only this track? If so, the mp3 file is either corrupt, or NOT in the location that is was originally referenced to (most likely the second scenario because of the re-load). Try right-clicking the folder where your music is, select recurse, let it finish working, then right-click the folder again and select add to search db. That ought to fix you up ;)
EDIT: You will also want to perform a fix and clean on the database(s) after you're done. It's under config>browser.

Sounds like Dell had you re-image your machine. If your music was not on an external HD it is lost. The Support staff are some of the brightest people connected with VDJ. You might get some good response here but, I would suggest not putting down the support Team.....

I agree on both points, even though I sure hope you didn't lose all your tracks :( The members of the support team are the most knowledgeable folks around by far.

Hi, I'm back and let me tell u I've tryed everthing and nothings working. none of the tracks play.I tryed loading the Windows updates to see if that would work, but it come's back saying that I have to install service pack 2. So i go and do that and the screen freez's. one time it went through and came back saying i have to upgrade my Windows Media player, so i try that and nothing loads up. Can anyone tell me how to find the data base so i can see if i can fix the proplem from there. (?) ps I'm really not that good with computers so I have to ask these Q?s.

mix_anything,
I recieved your pm but could not reply because you have chosen (in your profile) not to receive private messages.
Before we get too carried away with VDJ, I want you to try and play one of your tracks (you are sure they are there in the actual folders in Windows and not just VDJ, right?) in Windows Media Player and report back with your results. Thanks.

Hi, i checked to see if the tracks where there, and yes they are, and they still dont load , and to boot i have a new proplem @#$%! now my virtualdj comes up saying.A fatal error has occured. VirtualDJ can try to automatically recover from crash. Just click on recover and everything should be fine. but when i click on the smiley face botton that says recover it does'nt do anything but reload to interface, and repeats it again and again. let see if you can figure that one out cause i sure can't.

Go to My Documents:/ VirtualDJ:/ Crashgard Report.txt. Copy/paste that information here. That will give the Team a better understanding of what is going on with your machine....

hey mix_anything... I do understand the plight that you are in but I am asking you to remain calm.....it is not easy to do so...but...Knowing VDJ team I am pretty sure they are giving it their full attention. in the meantime make sure you back up your xml database files on your drives and keep them safe somewhere. The information in them may be become very necessary
Good luck bro.. and hope your problem will be solved soon

Ummmm...Huh?
I'm not sure what you mean. If the files are .mp3, or one of several other formats, they are already good to go with VDJ.
Maybe you're saying that they are in a different location?? If so, use the tree in VDJ to navigate down to them from "My Computer," find the folder where they are, then click on the button with the yellow folder and blue plus sign (Create Favorite Folder) so they'll be in the top level of the tree view. Then you can right-click the folder, select "recurse," wait for VDJ to finish working, right-click again, then select "add to search db." I hope this is what you were asking...
