I was just having to same problem but found the fix for it. When you go to "config" and your under the video option make sure the "use hardware acceleration" option is checked under video output. Hope this works the same for you.
 
I have exactly the same problem with my pro edition for mac. When I select master+mic or line the program keeps waiting.
I can't find "use hardware acceleration".
 

same problem. i must use vdj6 for a line-in problem with vdj7 anad macbook.

when i start record, or broadcast, still this "waiting to start". i tryed everytning. I haver no "hardware acceleration" box in video option.
 
This was mentioned a while back in the video threads i think.if you have it set to video recording you need to activate the video screen,right cliking on the output screen....
 
i don't found anything of similar :(
anyway i tryed to turn on any option of video, with same result: always this "waiting to start" :(
 
find!!!!.....remove and attac USB multipple time, when you're sure, your setings it's OK!!!!!.... TRY THIS "for my now i'm OK"
 
not the same for the video......but try enyway
