Topic: Firewire Live Feed Invert Fix

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Need: Firewire live video feed from Sony 8mm digital camcorder into PCDJ VJ on Sony laptop to be displayed on projector screen.

Problem: Camera.dll plugin provided with PCDJ VJ has flickering white vertical lines over video signal apparently from firewire signal being too 'hot'.

Initial Solution: S-video camcorder directly into projector. Drawback: Limited to 4 or 5 digital effects on camcorder.

Second Solution: PeteLiveFeed.dll (www.petewarden.com) freeframe plugin provided crystal clear video signal. Drawback: PeteLiveFeed.dll reads VIDEOMEDIATYPE as RGB32 instead of YUY2 resulting in video signal being read bottom-up as oppesed to top-down causing the video signal to be inverted vertically and horizontally.

Final Solution: Using FFRend (ffrend.sourceforge.net) create a metaplugin with 3 of Pete's plugins:

PeteLiveFeed.dll provides live feed video signal.
PeteSlide.dll with settings tweaked to provide image correction.
PetePanSpinZoom.dll provides slight scale adjustment to hide sliding effect off screen.

PeteLiveFeedInvertFix.dll can be downloaded here:
