Topic: File names and Ver 5.1

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have been using older versions of VDJ for years. Version 5.1 is the first version I have come across that does not read my file names how I have them saved, but rather from the actual ID Tag. This would normally be a good thing, except that lots of my new mash-up music that I use for transitions, I need to add the transition BPM range to the file name in a certain place to enable an easy search. Is there any way to make version 5.1 read the files from the filename only? I have tried disabling the ID readers in the Browser tag, but it doesn't do anything. I have all of my files named the same way. Artist - SongTitle.

Suggestions?????

The best way I think is to rescan all your files, (I know it's abit of a ball ache) this will add to Key to you files aswell.

Once that's done, highlight your first file in each folder(if you have more than one folder) Press Ctrl+A, should highlight everything in that folder, then righ click, option, Reload tag.

No no

directly ctrl+A all your files, right click , File Infos -> Title from filenames

D'OH, Jimmy b you twat, LOL.

First little Jimmy has a "Ball Ache" but ends up having a twat..... are you confused OR pre op?

Thanks guys worked like a charm. After I did it, I closed VDJ and and reopened it to make sure it stayed that way, and it did. I am guessing I only have to do it one time, and VDJ will remember the marking. Once again thanks.

Post op. He just THINKS he still has balls. Wait till the anesthesia wears off.

the dreaded phantom ball ache, common just after the procedure. No worries it will subside.
Just like a dog, still tries to lick them even though they're gone. what a pity.

Thanks for this tip DJCel, I just upgraded to 5.1 about a week ago. I started to correct some of the entries one by one, until I realized that almost all of the songs weren't showing who the remix was by. I always show this next to the song title. With just a few clicks thousands of files were fixed. Also had a chance Sunday night to try out some video at the club and was getting S video feedback so went to Radio Shack and got the ground loop isolater that was recommended in another thread. I'll find out Friday night if that works. As always, one of the best user support forums I've come across.
