With the Hercules Mk2 they are two versions, Pc and mac, does this go for the denon hc4500? Or any other controllers?

No..
Most controllers are just PC, but if they got the right drivers, they will work on mac too ;)
And usually it will say so on the box, PC and MAC compatible.
As for the Denon one, I dont know if it is
