Hey,
I havent' researched this topic, but i can help out with a few things.
usb
- ability to use mulitple usb devices
- consume more power and cpu usage than pci
- easy to install and uninstall by plug-in and plug-out
pci
- faster than usb
- only one slot availiable
- sometimes difficult for laptop to recognize
maya44 vs. maya44 mkii
clearly: mkii = make 2 = new edition
something is new, what exactly is up to you to find out.

the reason im asking is because my sound card broke and i bought a [asio] Roland UA-1EX usb card to replace it. i just bought a cheap card to get me through something i wanted to do before i went for a heavy hitter card. the roland card has only 2 in 2 out unlike the maya which is 4 in for out.. but vdj always brought up an error of not having enough inputs-outs.. and i wanted to test my technics on it... so i ended up selling it on ebay...
now that roland card sounded very very good. 24-bit different from my 16 bit card. actually the reason went with the roland card is because it was a 24-bit card while i read the maya usb card was only 16 bit..
i did a little research on maya and came through the same forum u posted... and someone posted that the esi maya card is 24 bit while the audiotrack is 16-bit... but there's no where in the specs that shows that the esi usb version is 24-bit.. the pci version specs say its 24-bit but the pci version is cheaper..
the usb version would be great coz it can move from laptop to desktop.. but i think the 24-bit version would sound way better than a 16-bit version..
now i hoped to get answers quicker coz i'd bought the esi maya usb from ebay for $120 but if its only 16-bit while the pci is 24-bit, i was gonna cancell the order and get the pci...
and im worried about usb drawing a lot of power too coz that can burn the motherboard... pci cards should draw more power than usb.. coz i dont want to plug in a jump drive or 3 other things and next thing u know too much power's been drawn the motherboard-usb slot burns..
mayamkII vs maya44: one has black interior the other has white... the black looks like its better but im wondering what the real difference is..
i know by the time i get all the 1/4 to rca jacks for the pci the price will probably be a little higher than the usb version.. but thats ok if its 24-bit..

@ Gansta5
You do understand that to use time code you need the full pro version of the software.
As a non licensed user since Sept of 2007 your demo has long since expired of which would run time code for only 5 minutes at a time.
We need to make you aware that we are monitoring things in our forum in fairness to other users who have paid for their software.
Hope to see you as a fully licensed user soon.
