Topic: Security for external hard drive

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Is there a way to add a security code, encode to files to my external hard drive in the case of theft?
I believe PCDJ encodes the files to only work with your PCDJ and if files are stolen, they wouldn’t work on another computer.

I think there is no such option in VDJ.

no there isn't but is there any other way to secure the drive besides keeping it in my back pocket

Just had a quick google around, and I've Found This.

Might be worth looking into, and it looks free.

Actually, that looks appealing.

Will the files be unable to be altered or removed and used on another computer without administrator password?
