I thought someone would have noticed that in the skins section, there is mention that v5.1 is due out soon, but they need someone to make a new skin for it cause they are using a new skin engine...

What about the older skins in the download area? Did they working with the new skinengine in 5.1 also?

It's not written such thing.
It's only to have a better skin (the "bitmap" file part) built with 3DMax instead of Photoshop.

i think i miss-understood what 3d Max is.
after a quick google, its a program, not a language.
so no change to the skin engine.
but with 3d max, you can use it make your buttons look more realistic :)
any skin designers out there who are gonna help to get us all onto v5.1 ???

Should the design of the skin really hold back a better version of the software.
I'm all for functionality, if it looks better that's a bonus.
The biggest improvement to skins in my opinion would be to have panes and be able to position them to suit you.
Still looking very forward to 5.1 on Mac or PC.

I would speculate that the internal mixer has had an overhaul, and that could need a skin designer to 'draw' the changes...
