Topic: Slow Folder access

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I have some monitored folders and when you click on them, it freezes the screen on VDJ (not the music playing) and when it is done searching it un-freezes VDJ screen. Is there a way to resolve this? I have over 300GB of music on a 500GB external USB 2.0 drive on a laptop that is a core duo XP home with 1GB Ram.

You can optimize by creating subfolders
 
HUH? my issue is that lets say I want to look for all the FUNKYMIXES across my entire HD. they are not all in one folder so I create monitored folder that looks for them and sees if the folder name has FUNKYMIX in it or the title of the song has FUNKYMIX in it. that is what is making it slow...
