Has anyone figured out how to activate the back lights on ALL the buttons. I thoughts they all worked when used??

They didn't put backlights on all the buttons because they wanted to cut down on the amount of USB power it uses;^]

Finally got the MK3 RMX working great! After reading some posts, I un-installed norton anti-virus and replaced with Mcafee.
Once that was done the RMX works fine. I am pleased with the controller and ready for the summer season. To all my club DJs -
Norton and RMX are not compatible on IBM XP SP2 laptops!!

hehe, it's not just IBM, it was like that on both my Sony and my Dell. I never knew how big of a resource hog Norton was until I switched to Mcaffee. Now my gig system and my timecode system run smooth as butter;^]

Answered many time, do a Search for "Ground Loop". You will need to connect Ground from the TT's to a metal part on your laptop. The best solution is to get Ground Loop Isolator which you put between Mixer and Amplifier.

Correction, isolators goes between the soundcard and mixer;^]

finally got a go on this on a friend's computer. not bad. i am quite disappointed in some respects though. there is a delay on pretty much every button, which kind of ruins the experience. also the pitch shifters or whatever aren't 100% accurate, as in i couldn't get alot of the songs to get to a certain bpm, which is poor. hopefully these may get sorted in updates though, but seem like things you shouldn't have to wait to be sorted. they're pretty basic errors. also the software is annoying. the software that came with my mk2 was better than this. i do feel like i've been ripped off and it's too late to send it back for a refund because i was so adament to try and get it working on my computer (haven't yet, but i've recently switched from norton so going to try again). if i'd known it would be this disappointing i would have stuck with my mk2 and the software i got with that

I am not sure to understand you, but I use VDJ and MK2 and it is working perfect. Because PC has different components on almost every machine, it is hard to be plug & play, you must do some tweaking do get the best performance.

In 5.1 I'm now using the RMX icon instead of 4.1 card, whether standalone or with external mixer all is working great for me;^]

Yeah I use the RMX instead of the 4.1 thingy as well! Just seems to generally be more stable...

I just got my RMX set up a few days ago, but I get audio hiccups in ASIO or Hercules RMX mode on the sound setup. If I set to 4.1 sound, it seems to work okay, but I would prefer to run in the optimum mode.

As I said (and as someone else previously documented), in ASIO the sould stutters or pauses for a fraction of a second - about every 30 seconds or so on average... sometimes every 7 seconds. It doesn't matter if I'm mixing another track at the moment or if it's just playing one track by itself. System resources and CPU usage seems fine, I've disabled virus protection (AVG), and Wifi. Latency is set to auto, and I've tried pretty much every other setting I can think of. I'm sure there are more knowledgable people here than myself, so....

Any other suggestions?

do you have the latest hercules drivers, also what was the final cure for me was the release of 5.1, banished all pops squeaks and stutters

I do have the newest drivers from Hercules's website. But I don't have 5.1 yet. I do plan on upgrading, since video is the direction I want to take. I hope it ends up fixing the problems for me as well.

Thanks!

First, Thank you to everyone posting good information on here.

I as well have been going crazy trying to make the audio better on the RMX. I have just changed the sound setup to 4.1 sound card, and I have been playing music through it for about 1hr now with out one skip(was skipping all the time in asio and hercules rmx modes). I made sure to mess with effects, and scratch another track while playing, and it will not skip. It made a huge difference, but the external input source buttons don't seem to work in that mode. Any advice? I feel like I will never get this thing to work right.

I also do not think the computer has as much to do with it anymore. I was testing it on my laptop with 512mb, and my desktop with 2 gigs, and I was getting the same audio problems. Right now it is running on the laptop in 4.1 and sounds good, I just wish I didn't have to lose the external source capability to do so.

Another problem I was having (but have not noticed in 4.1 sound) is that when I was scratching with the crossfader, sometimes it would get stuck. For example when I would cut the fader all the way to the right to cut off the left deck, the left deck would still be playing. This only happens every once in a while, but like I said, I have not noticed it since I changed my sound settings. Also sometimes the track would just get stuck when I would release the wheel, and I would have to nudge it for the song to continue. Any response would be appreciated.

I provide tech support for high end business phone systems, and I have seen firmware upgrades fix some bad things, so I am not losing faith yet, but it would be nice to be able to use this sooner then a firmware update is released.

If anyone has any insight... Thanks!

Switching to Asio 48k instead of 41.1, and using 7ms also worked to fix the audio like earlier posted, but I still can not use my external inputs in this mode?

Thanks
