Hi...
I've searched the forum for the answer to this question and did what was suggested but...
It did not work. My question for the day is...How do I get all my music info (bpm's cue points, comments etc) from v. 3.4 to v. 5.0.7? I have a 500gb external hard drive.
All my music is correct in 3.4 but in 5.0.7 I got no info. I copied the database but it did not work so I guess theres something else I needed to do that I don't know about.
Can someone help?

It's done...Never mind.
1st, I copied the database from 3.4 to a usb flashdrive for safe keeping. Then I deleted the database from my harddrive "and" in the Virtuad dj folder located in "My Documents". I then had to copy the database from 3.4 and place it in the Virtual DJ folder located in "my documents". I then renamed the database to "virtualdj database v5.xml."
Now, with only 1 database...I opened Virtual dj and let the info populate.
Hope this helps anyone that may have the same issue I had. I did not know that Virtual DJ v5 keeps a database on the harddrive and the VDJ folder is placed in My Documents. In previous versions, everything was in Programs/Virtual dj.

Its for making VDJ Vista compatible (my documents), and for allowing hot swap of harddrives (between djs running same VDJ pc)

DJ IN NORWAY is one of the best people for support. He has helped me with quite a few issues over the years, including the database issue. It still disappoints me to see the lack of support from everyone else. I'm not saying that no one else ever helps but the level of overall help and support in general has fallen.
When I first purchased VDJ, many more people would step up to help others out. It would not take days for someone to reply to a post for help with an issue. You would get several people helping you or at least attempting to help. I have not seen that lately.
What I see now is everyone will want to jump into a discussion about which one is better, or this vs. that, or what new hardware or software update is due to come out.
As a member since Jan 06...I would like to see better from the VDJ community as a whole.
Thank you to those that take the time to help others and to the rest, PLEASE step up to the plate and help if you can. That will keep VDJ moving in the right direction and keep NEW members coming and purchasing the software.

thanks for the warm comment, just glad to help ;)
There has been a switch in the community about helping others, I personally think its related to soooooo many new users all asking same questions over and over again, and not bothering to use search or even reading manual. So, being around the forum daily, I can see why some "lost interest" in repeating same help answers. But its one of the most valuable parts of a community, its the glue that MAKES a community, so I'd love to see more helping too... But there are new eager helpers around, new blood, got my hopes up... ;)
About the "who is best" , this vs that, its getting old yes... But being a community of djs ranging from kids to grandpas, from bedroom djs to superstar djs, there will always be the clash threads, where the argument about whats best starts . That be turntable vs controller, vdj vs serato, pioneer vs numark, pc vs mac.... ;) funny thing about it, is that all these topics gets threads after threads, seems people never get tired of arguing about it... Guess its like "my father is stronger than yours", or "my willy is bigger than yours" ... something in our nature, we love to fight about right and wrong, good and evil.. ;) hehe
Anyways, I always get happy to see the oldtime members getting back at the site, and glad to see you back City ;)
