Topic: Changing Genre's In Multiple Files

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Is there a way that you can change VDJ Genre's in multiple files (or songs) at the same time, like when you hold Ctrl down and highlight multiple files on other programs? One at a time just takes too long!!

this would be an excellent feature , it would be handy with comments and album also

shud put this in the ideas forum, coz this is a sweet idea.

i'm really surprised they did not put that option light years ago

Check out this post – more specifically the one by QuadmanDJ.

No sense in clogging up VDJ with features that are redundant. There are many many programs that you can mass tag with. Many of which are absolutely free.

I use “Mp3 Tag Tools v1.2.008” - it's a little outdated but does the job for me.

You may also want to check out BPM Analyzer.

I understand your point -
but like you stated yourself, you don't have to use another program to organize your stuff - (may be tedious but) VDJ provides a basic means to do this. And this is a good thing.
If you want more features, a specialized program is the way to go.
To maintain it's great stability, VDJ is not and should not be a "Do-all" program.

Same goes for all other functions such as Audio and video ripping, etc. If you want more parameters to work with you're better off using specialized programs like AudioGrabber and TMPGEnc which have more parameters than you would ever care to mess with.

You dont use other programs to organize your music. You organize it yourself... The dumbest thing is to let a program do it for you. You make many folders 80s hits, dance hits, hip hop, reggae.......... Now if you want sessions added , you will do this Inside the Hip hop folder, you make new folders " session1 another folder session 2 another folder session 3....... each genre can have this to make your dj selection better and you will be able to go thru your music faster to chose a song... Eveybody has there way but we are djs....... and the best way for djs is this way. You need to be able to know where you music is at lall times, you need to be able to find your music fast. Using the browser is good when you cant find a song but seeing all your hot files in one shot can give you ideas on what to play next and after that

I use Tag&Rename. It's pretty powerful and it works on karaoke, too. It has worked well for me so far.

the reason to put the feature in vdj is that i use wave files and cannot do it with another program, sure you can tag with other programs, but vdj won't read the tages from wave files.
