Hello,
Got a brandnew laptop with an ATI Radeon 2600 HD card.
Within Vista I get freezing problems when one video is playing and the other is loading to the second deck.
Therefore looked for xp drivers.
Found it and installed it.
Everything looked ok till I play a video within virtualdj.
Then it looks like this:
http://img150.imageshack.us/my.php?image=virtualdjxpstripesww0.jpg
Strange is that it doesn't have stripes within the XP mediaplayer.
I installed the klmcodec380.exe with alle the codecs.
Also it didn't stop the problem.
Who knows how to solve this ?????????

Try this:
Right click on your desktop to edit your wallpaper etc.....(display properties)
settings tab
Advanced
troubleshoot.
The hardware acceleration slider will show up. I Lowered it all the way down and disabled directx problems
And then Brought it back up to the highest setting that did not show the green/red lines
Now the home system looks as good as the mobile rig and I finally have flawless video on 2 machines (took a while but I didn't pursue it as hard on my home machine as I would have on my mobile rig)
P.S.
I updated and/or re-installed directx 5 times and the answer was turning the acceleration down
I also restored all video card settings back to factory settings
I also have the ATI 2600HD pro - PCI-E version

Dj Marcel_1,
Thanks for you help but it didn't work for my laptop.
When I did the slider to the left, I tried every step till it says that I disabled Directdrw and Direct3d.
Then you don't see a video at all.
First did the slider a step to the left, then rebooted and afterwards looked if it works.
But no succes

I have same problem now.
I have a new PC for home, and another one only for VDJ. Both have new and clean installations of XP 64 bit. The new one are the follow specs:
Intel Motherboard DP35DP
Intel Dual Core 3Ghz, 8Mb Cache
8 Gb Ram, 667 mhz, Kingston brand
ATI 2600 HD Pro 512MB, PCIe16X, Gigabyte brand.
I installed the XP video Pack v.2.3.6 because I couldnt see many videos that I have in Divx, I also like the media player classic because it is too light. I didnt installed the K-Lite Codec Pack because I have problems with the .MOV files (from my camera), I only hear the sound but cant see any movie.
Now, when I load a video in VDJ I see from the middle to the right green and some red lines for a while, then normal video, then the lines comes back. The videos play fine in windows media player and media player classic too. I think the problem it is in VDJ but cant find it. What's the deal to fix it?
Thanks!

Thanks Marcel, I did all the suggestions, and I havent any positive results.
If I uncheck (in VDJ) hardware aceleration, problem solved, but I only get 1 video transaction type.
If I go in display settings (in windows) and put hardware acceleration to none (the video file doesnt load in VDJ) and when go back to full aceleration, the stripes come back!.
I already updated to the lastest version of my display drivers designed for XP 64 from ATI, I just updated directX, all patches downloaded from Microsoft update. Restarted several times after making changes, I unistalled all the codecs, and installed the CCCP pack with no results...
Still looking for solution.

Did I miss something? You have Vista, yet you installed XP drivers? What XP drivers and why? Why not try to get this fixed in Vista first, instead of jumping around. Are you the same guy that had 3 or 4 laptops?
Posted Fri 21 Mar 08 @ 2:08 pm
he is rick and i cant understand why anthony went to xp64, anthony go back to vista and stick with it, i've used vista for a year now with no problems

LOL, Nop, I dont have any laptop. I prefer performance and versatility of desktops. And yes you miss something, I said that I that my both pc's have new and clean installations of XP 64 bit.
Update: If I unistall all the codecs, and only left the ones that comes with windows, I sitll have the stripes. So Im discarting a codec problem. Im pretty sure that is something about VDJ acceleration engine, because when I dissable hardware acceleration, problem solved but I lose all the cool transactions.
Im stick with XP64 because I just bought it in december and I really like the performance over XP32. And I dont want to spend another hundreds of dlls, in another operating system just to put the green stripes off.
Thanks for your help guys, I really apreciate your time and your sharing of knowledge.

NOBODY CAME WIH THE SOLUTION !!!
Read this: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/86751/General_Discussion/Unmark_Hardware_acceleration_but_still_Effects____.html
There's nobody who can say: do this and this and then it's solved.
First we had older videocard that worked perfectly for xp with directx 9, now the videocards are designed for directx10 and a lott of videcard doesn't run well with Vista.
It's a problem of combinations: Videocard, directx, Vist, xp, shared or dedicated memory etc.
I'm waiting on Virtualdj 5.1 and hope that the problem is solved for new videocards with Vista ( I have a 512mb ATI radeon 2600HD, that must be enough memory).
I stick with vista but disabled hardware acceleration, then I don't have freezing probs but can't play video effects (3 D)
Greetings,
DjAnthony
p.s.: I don't blame Virtualdj for this problem, because for me it's more a microsoft and the manufacturer of the videocards problem !!!

Not for nothing but you are very impatient, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Do you have money to burn, because at the rate you are going, no matter what you buy, you are gonna have problems. Let me put it this way. The software works for me, so it should work for you. I don't know shit about software, but have built 4 machines, and have a laptop. The laptop has Vista, and the video works, I just have not had the time to get the sound card working. I did not buy it as a primary machine, so am not in any rush. However, there are guys running laptops with Vista. So, if it is not the software, and not the laptop, then it's you. There is no way that you could be that unlucky. Is it me, or does it seem that you come here, after you have done a bunch of stuff. Again, there is no way you could have that much bad luck. I just think you are moving too fast. As I said before, I don't know shit, but am playing "I touch Myself" by the High Street Honeys right now in the club. These girls are hot.

I agree 100% with Anthony about the problems combinations.
Im not "dying" for this issue because it is in my home PC, and only with VDJ. My gig PC seems to work fine, I will made many test when the custom case for the VDJ stuff got finished (they have my PC and controllers).
I'm not sure, but the HD2600 was made for DX10 ???
My other video card for VDJ is an ATI X1650 saphire brand, with 512mb and works fantastic!!!.
No prob AMAHM, thanks for explain it.

@A Man and His Music
Your the biggest ashole I ever saw.
Another topic off me you tried to be funny.
This time you make me angry.
If you are a comedian, I guess that nobody would laugh.
Little explanation: Nobody on this forum knows the answer and you just came with your stupid answer.
Believe me that a lott of people have this problem and when we can solve this together, everybody is happy.
Sorry but if this is a vip member I don't know why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think before you write something where you don't know anything from

Dude relax. This is not an issue with VDJ, its an issue somewhere with your hardware and or drivers or codecs. I would go to the ATI site and try an older driver than current. I have found that sometimes a driver update doesnt fix shit and sometimes makes matters worse. Is this a FRESH install of Vista or is it just from an install disc that came with your computer??

Read it again, I was quite serious. What part do you think is funny? Let me put it to you again. How many laptops have you bought? No one else on here, has gone through as many laptops as you, in so little time. Why is that? I thought I was trying to help you, but as I stated, you are too impatient, so you go off on the deep end. The reason no one knows the answer, is because you have done so many things to so many computers, we are all confused.
As for me being the biggest asshole (that's with 2 s), I'm a big boy, and it is real easy for you to say that, when you are not standing in front of me. Let me know when you get one of those laptops working.

Relax boys!!!
@Anthony, Don't take it too personal. It's just an opinion, that could be serious or just kidding. Everybody knows A Man and His Music as the way he is, and his sarcasm makes me laught a lot. Belive me, if he anytime call me asshole, or told to my to go and fck my self for sure I will laght for that, I will take it with humor sense, becase is the way he is.
Remeber this forum is for helping, fun, sharing knowledge and experiences, but not for insulting or fighting, and that was not the intention of AMAHM for sure.
Just my two cents.
