Charlie, you know I'm only pucking with you. The real deal is, I don't know, and don't think anyone knows for sure. The hilarious part about this, for me is, I can see this topic going to the stratosphere. Most of these products are not even for sale yet, and because they look like they may be of some value, people want them. The way a product looks, should not be your primary reason, to buy it. You know that hooker looks good, but his real name is Tyrone. I can hear the crying now, "I bought this controller or that controller, and how come they don't work"? "I heard they going to be supported". "I bought it today, and have a party tonight, why doesn't this work"? I'm telling you, the crying, moaning and groaning, will go on forever. Don't believe me, look at the last Denon product HC 4500. Now, there must be at least ten new controllers, and more to come. So my humor about this, has just started, and I will be the first one to say "who told you to buy that controller before there was support for it"? I like new toys just like everyone else, but am very patient, and will wait till the dust settles, so I can make an educated decision.

I can't say which will be supported as I don't know, but I have an opinion of which should be supported natively, It will be difficult to carry on supporting "everything and anything" natively.

There needs to be a balance in what products are supported, so far there are a few basic/cheap/semi pro controllers supported like the MK2, XP10, Total Control, RMX etc, and a few rackmount style controllers such as the Denon. Personally if I was running the ship I'd be enhancing support for the Pro controllers and adding native support quicker for the more credible controllers.

Personally I made my decision to get the VCI because IMO I don't think there's anything else like it out there (bar the Xponent which isn't everyones choice in terms of design), using the general midi mapper it's possible to get it working to a satisfactory level and I would happily gig with it, but native support with a mapper would take it to another level, for that I'm waiting with interest, but no tears over here.

I agree with everything that has been said on the topic up to now, A man and his music - haven't I waited long enough all ready? I just want to build a kick ass system that I enjoy using. I don't have that at the moment and feel lost, it's been years and I feel that none of the controllers have been the business up to now except the A&H 3D although it did not have native or overlays for VDJ and the Vista drivers sucked.

An A&H all in one quality, native, rack mount solution is what I;m really after. Hercules said that they worked with DJ's to come up with the latest edition (WHAT DJS) well I wished they'd contacted me! Also I don't see a suggestions part to any of the manufactures sites like the one on this forum.

This is my take. I can't get hung up with, "what about this and how about that", I can only deal with now. I have two choices, get what is supported now or wait to see what will be supported later, that's it. Wishing on a star does nothing but drive you crazy. I have to work today and there is no such thing as the perfect controller, now or ever. So I can choose the one that will offer me the most of what I want. I also know that as soon as I make that choice, someone will introduce a better one. That's just the way it is. I don't cry about the choice I made, because somebody else is introducing another one. It is non stop. I skip a few generations of the new stuff, and wait. While I am waiting, the controller I bought, is making money. In the mean time, the software is changing and new features are added. So now, a new breed of controllers are coming out, and the race is starting all over again. Shit, I lease 2 cars every 27 months, my computer is almost 4 years old (I have a new one I just built). I am using a DMC 2 now, and it is great for what I need. I like the Denon DHD 4500, but it is lacking in a few areas. I really don't want a controller with sound card built in. However, I would over look that if it had a 3 channel sound card, so my samples can be controlled. I also don't like the small display. So I wait, but still make money while I'm doing it.

I feel the same way... To be honost, that's the richmans definition of patience " Doing something in the meantime until your able to get what you want"

A Man and His Music nails it on the head once again!

I couldn't agree more.
