Topic: Need help installing Maya 44 USB please

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

it seems like my maya 44 drivers ARE installing, BUT the maya control panel says its "not connected"???

i actually had trouble installing the ones for winXP, but the ones for win98 installed just fine. the winXP drivers would just hang on forever at 50%

anyone have any experience with this?

well, i got the driver installed, but now only one turntable works. =(
the other works, but the volume is very low.
almost like it isn't getting amplified.
it does work, just very low volume FROM the soundcard

anyone with experience, or anyone with help is greatly appreciated.
if i can get this working, i'm sure i will buy this product

well, its working now, but the timecode signal is at 0%. i guess that's like relative mode. i can not needle drop (move ahead), but it stays in the same spot if the needle jumps.

i guess it would be okay.
i would have to get used to using Cues.

my real problem though is that the audio will jump ahead of itself when i first cue up sometimes. i'll be scratching away, and then the song will jump towards the end of the song. sometimes it goes back, but most of the time, i have to click the stop button, and restart my cue.

it seems all the suggestions for skipping, the ones DJ CoCo posted, are all just prep work for windows. there doesnt seem to be anything concrete. just, oh try this...

i want to know some real good tips for tuning my Maya 44 USB.
i tried turning UP the latency in maya control panel,
but the same jumping ahead problem happened.

i solved the humming by plugging in the mixers line out directly to the speakers,
and not through my PC.

im just about to buy this program, but

the scratching isn't as real sounding as i thought it would be.
there are digital noises, and crackles in every small scratch i do.
like when the record is stopped with my finger, and im just barely scratching,
there is a distinct noise there.

my crabs also sound very strange. not normal, kinda digitized. almost like they're fake sounding.

i hope they make a better algorithim or whatever to improve the sound quality of the scratching.

my real problem is the jumping though.
alot of my songs if not all will jump around after a small period of playtime.
they will play for a short bit,and then jump to another part of the song.
i have set my MP3 codec priority to 1 as suggested in another post, but to no avail. =(

this is the only thing stopping me from buying this program.
this skipping thing seems to be a real problem that im reading is a problem for others as well.

can i be sure that when i buy this program this will be fixed?

i would hope so, but ill never know until i pay you guys 120$.
