Can you use the VDJ software with mixers like the Pioneer DJMs, Gemini PS series and Numark DXMs?
It's a probably a stupid question but the last time I didn't ask the stupid question I was out of pocket €120.
Thanks .

Yes you can, but you need a soundcard with at least 2 outputs I think.
Output 1 of the soundcard for channel 1 of the mixer and the other output for channel 2.

Ah, thank you. I don't know much about soundcards. I've seen them for €30 - €40 but I was recomended one by a store (for a midi controller) and that one cost €150. That's a big difference.

You can use 4 channel sound card with any hardware mixer like with cd players.

melonie
in the meantime if you haven't got a sound card you can try this
in the meantime if you haven't got a sound card you can try this
basically if you cant follow the clip
go to config
soundsetup
outputs > external mixer
soundcards > mono seperated
output channels give you white lead/left channel red lead/right channel to your mixer
you will have to use a y splitter for each channel to get dual inputs into mixing desk
which of course will only give you mono sound output.
hope that helps

Thank you everyone. So it looks like I will need to purchase extra items. Well, I'm sure it will be worth it in the end!

This may also help:
I use the Rane MP22z ... in my opinion; a solid mixer without many bells and whistles.
One of the mixer's short commings is it's lack of total Kill from the EQ knobs, so I considered purchasing a mixer with total kills (I particularly like killing the bass of the incoming track).
Since I use VDJ's VIDEO skin, I'd forgotten that VDJ has a built-in EQ - and it's a darn good one at totally killing any frequency.
I was able to easily create a couple of keyboard shortcuts to kill Deck 1 and Deck 2's bass respectively and Viola! didn't need to spend more $$$$ on a new mixer with full kills.
VDJ is simply AWESOME !!!!
