With time-codes you need a good set of direct drive turntables , you could look at the numark direct drive battle back these are a good package for midrange users.
You will need good cartridges i would advise you to get Ortofon Concorde Digitracks this is what i use and they are specially modified to work with binary / time-code records and they will ensure a perfect result.
Now you will need a 4/4 interface like Virtual Vinyl , U46DJ , Maya 44 usb and you will probably want a mixer if you want to mix video it is advisable to get a midi mixer like the nu04 that way when you crossfade it mixes the audio output of the sound-card and moves the video crossfader in the software giving you a seamless mix.
If you purchase the Virtual Vinyl interface from Numark you also get Cue (VDJ pro) included.

Numark tt 200 are Numark ' s Entry level direct drive turntables , if you want to do some serious scratching check out the digitaly enchanced ttx / ttx usb :
or the analog version tt500 :
Cartridges contain the needle and take the signal off the vinyl.
The 4/4 interface is a special type of sound-card which has 2 stereo phono inputs and two stereo phono outputs
this is needed to allow using two time-codes and a mixer.
For example Virtual Vinyl which also includes Cue Pro (Vdj pro)

Here is a great video from DJ Soccros who explains how it is all setup he uses the sl1 box as an example
If you purchase Virtual Vinyl you get a full setup guide for the VV version of VDJ.
as well as this forum and tickets you can also use the numark support line.

Time Coded Vinyl is a special record on which instead of audio is computer code , so when you perform an action on the record the software knows to copy it.
So you can scratch your mp3 and videos on real vinyl and mix with a real mixer.
They are the main reason really for using turntables with virtual dj you can also mix normal vinyls if you use bypass mode.

Is there any difference between cue pro and virtual dj pro?
Posted Sun 10 Feb 08 @ 1:35 pm
Cue is sold via stores in box updates are available online , Virtual DJ Pro is sold online as a download.
They are the same except for the branding.

as an owner of the numark battle pack...i HIGHLY recommend saving your money and staying as far as possible away from this junk-in-a-box...biggest waste of $400 i've ever spent in my honest opinion
i just picked up a used set of technics 1200mk5s for $600 bucks off ebay, and what a WORLD of a difference....
I couldn't even get a good slip cue going with the battle pack let alone a decent scratch
in all fairness, i know comparing technics to the battle pack tts is like comparing pure diamonds to diahrrea shit but still...save your money, get technics, numarks ttx or vestex pdx series

Hi guys,
I have Technics 1210's and i was wondering if i could connect Virtual DJ up to them via my mac, then, using my own ordinary vinyl, could i use Virtual DJ to beat match these two Vinyl?
Any help would be sweet
