Topic: Demo for MAC - Page: 1

This part of topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information

Hello,

I have browsed the forum to find an answer on my question but I failed.
I have a macbook and am willing to go for Virtual DJ as i heard such a great stories about it

Though I first want to try it and see if it is working well for me (with my HC4500). I can only find the PC version demo.
Isn't there any MAC version which I can play with?

Thank you for your constructive answer.

I second that.... Is there a MAC demo available yet? If not, can you tell us when there will/might be.
Cheers!

The mac final version 5 has just come out so a demo will be created shortly for users to try.

That's good news.
Can't wait to try the MAC version with My HC4500

Thanks!

I need a demo for mac today or I need to buy it I dont care can someone please tell me if theres a safe Virtual D J program and will I be able to load it and use it never having used this type of program before. Do you think I could mussel through it for the night. I have Mac Book Pro 17 OSX

The latest Version 5 X is very stable and gives you alot of
functionality

The macbook pro will work great with it for audio and video mixing.

I personally use the V5 mac version full time and have no issues with it and am very confident to take it out live.

You might want to consider if you would like to get hardware such as a controller , or a sound-card to enable you to use time-codes or headphone preview or mixing with an external mixer to your preference.

Unlike most products updates since the very begging are free and are likely to remain so , so you are making a good investment with your purchase.

Learn more about hardware here:

Hey guys when do the demo version appears ? do you got a date?

Cant give a date but at a rough estimate in the next couple of weeks.

I hope it will be available soon ... I try before I buy!
I noticed this forum gives a great feedback compared to other software-forums.

So if VDJ does the trick for me (mixing with DN-HC4500) - I buy it.

But I need full working demo first

Hello there,

I see from previous posts a demo for the mac is due soon. I would just like to know if a date has been confirmed yet. I have tried other software on my laptop and to be honest Virtual DJ has come out tops for me, hence I am anxious to try it on my macbook before I make the purchase.

If it is now available can you provide a link please.

Many thanks,

The VO Guy

Hello All;

I am also waiting on a Mac Version Demo. Will you update this Forum and include a link when it is available? Also, per the suggestion above regarding hardware, I already have a XSession Pro which according to the link provided may be used with VDJ. (Please confirm this) Also, can you recommend a good sound card for head phone preview? I currently have a MacBook Pro and can't currently do this since I have only the one internal Sound Card. Everyone hears my "train wreck" so all I can do is a simple cross fade between songs. Finally does VDJ include an Internet Streaming option in within the software?

Thanks,

DLowe

Yes the Xsession works fine
DJ.io is a good card to use for simple headphone preview
Yes it includes a streaming system

Will time-code records work with the mac-demo?

It would be realy nice to be able to try that out by buying a timecode record(less expensive than buying the whole kit), try it with my soundcard and if it works then buy the program.

realy looking forward to the demo.

Again I request a reply to my original post please;

Well, I own a Macbook Pro, a Denon HC4500 and Virtual DJ.....

....and I am about to buy a PC to run both VDJ on and be able to use my HC4500....so that probably gives you some sort of idea as to where thing are at. There's no native support on the Mac for the Denon HC4500, but you can midi map it. However, you don't get the lights, etc., and the same experience that you would if there were native support.

I have been a mac owner for years (own both a 24" imac and I am on my 4th macbook pro) but between wanting to use my 4500 and also getting some DMX Lighting software, Dell's are so cheap now for a good amount of specs on it, so I was thinking of actually just picking up a PC....

Very disappointed there was no follow up to my posted question. Guess I have no option but to look for a cracke somewhere...

hey hey hey .... so are we getting a demo or not?
I had virtual dj demo on my pc laptop but it had a few hiccups (my laptop probably just to slow) so .... i bought a macbook and want to test it on there before buying the software .....
Is someone gonna let us know when it's out?

thanks!!

I disagree. The question was asked in Feb 08 re. a mac demo and to date no definitive answer has been given which can only lead me to believe the is no mac demo due. I really really wish to support this software but it's proving difficult. Would you spend 300 bucks without demoing first if you were told a demo was available...?

It just that there is no mac demo atm but it may be in the future. If u really want to use this software urgently, i recommend u to get the herc rmx that came with the VDJ LE n see if this suited u. Then u may upgrade it with a special discount to pro version:)

Hope to see u with us soon;)
