This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Can anyone give me any tips/tweaks/settings/ links that will best optimize "Beatmatching" in VDJ please? Thanks.

hey mike :) long time... thought you where gone

did you read the official post from Dev team regarding the auto-mix features ? hope so, as it was the answers I wanted to give you, but where not needed as the team posted...

Beatmatching : there are TWO important things for this to work like a charm ;)
(1) CORRECT bpm for songs
(2) CORRECT alignment of CBG for the same songs

for nr2 this means that each cbg square have to be under each of the beats that counts for the bpm.

For even better results, the BIG cbg square should be at the first beat of the bar/pattern..
All music is made of 4 x 4 beats (a bar) and by aligning them this way, you should beatmatch with the BIG cbg aligned for both songs, for best results.

This will ensure that the vocals start at the right beats of the other song etc etc .. in sum, make the mix sound CORRECT

the first beat of a bar is usually the first beat of the song OR the first beat of the vocals. Listen to a song, 1-2-3-4... and you will hear the logic.

Hope that helps ;)
