That adapter is a capture device like the Dazzle, and also requires you to buy the software.

So what outputs from the camera do you have?
USB, RCA, FIREWIRE?
From the website I thought it had a connection like usb or something.

Yes it is... but I can't even think of anything worse than the Pinnacle software! It is like a S####Y first time beta release. I am glad Marcel got it working but nothing for me... and it seems like quite a few others...
The camera you have looks kick ass! Once you get it figured out, let us know how it goes.

I see somebody is still up. I have a female RCA jack from the camera. I actually uninstalled all the Pinnacle software. The computer has the Dazzle listed in the device manager. When I click on the web-cam in the remote section of VDJ, and try config, it says the camera initialization failed. The Dazzle is listed in the config under devices. I just ordered the usb capture device and the software from X10. It has to be here by Friday, as the wedding is on Saturday. This is a surprise for the bride, so if I can not get it to work by then, it is no big deal. They are getting a full visual package, and I was just going to add that feature. It is not listed in the contract, but I figured it would go over well, and also get me more business. This is a hot reception, with a lot of Hot Brazilian dancers, some I don't know. Just wanted to show off. Marcel, do I have to dial some digits before your number? I could not get through.

Same as making any long distance call - 1 - area code- number
Don;t use the web-cam function in remote - that's for web cam scratching
Use the camera plugin in the video effects tab of the browser

Tried that. Click on plug in, the window opens and shows, device, source, and format. Clicking on any of these gives me nothing. Is this supposed to be listed in external devices, because it is not.

Can you simply connect a usb webcam to your laptop ans use the camera plugin to show for example the dancing people on a big screen ?

In my humble opinion. I think that if the camera signal doesn't get converted into a streaming like signal, VDJ will not pick up the signal. So any capture card needs to convert analog / DV into a signal that can be streamed, hence the webcam.
