i have a korg zero 4 and it works flawlessly with vdj 5.4 i have no cule what the problem is but when i try and upgrade to 5.5 and 5.6, i can play live for about 3 hours and then the connection between the firewire sound card in the korg zero 4 and vdj fail and a high pitch sound comes from the mixer. i have to unplug and then replug the firewire back in and it will work for about 30 mins and it will happen again! i took back the mixer and got a new one and i still had the same problem. uninstalled the korg driver and then reinstalled it, same problem. soon as i went back to 5.4 the problem was gone?!?!?! now im affraid to upgrade. can someone help me out?
also i tryed the "reload tag" feature and it doesn't work. my bpms are still all messed up and i don't want to have to redo my whole video library just to get my mp3 bmps correct.

I have the korg zero8 and I know korg came out with firmware updates for both the zero4 and the zero8. The firmware update is version 1.5, try updating the firmware. I don't know if it will work but it's worth a shot.

This seems to be the "white noise" syndrome by what you are saying.
It seems to be pretty consistent with xp, and has been a bit of a problem to nail down, search that topic for more information.
The only answer is to make sure your hardware drivers are up to date.
Completely uninstall with the device driver utility if there is one, then boot with the device connected and follow the wizard instructions exactly.
When in doubt, reinstall.
The other thing is you should run the version that gives you the best stability as a rule.
If 5.04 works well, use it, we watch for input like this.
There is nothing wrong with waiting and watching the forum to see how a particular version is working out for fellow djs here.
Also, this gets VERY complicated with the different associated hardware, platforms and formats used with this software, so test, test, test before you go live with any software.
No software is perfect and is dependent on a good working os and system hardware.
As for bpm info, once the file is analyzed once, it should be able to read from the tag if set up in config to do so.
Hope this helps you some.

Dj_john24 thanks for the firmware update cause i didn't know they had one. i will try that.
mp3jrick i have done everything you said already and i still kept haveing the problem in xp and vista. i don't know whats different with vdj 5.4 and the new revisions but i have stuck with 5.4 and i haven't had one problem.
i still can't get the correct bpms to load and i have all the settings set to read from tag only asap. once i analyzed everything the only bpm that will show up is the on vdj assigned. i have to go file by file and go into file info and click the lil arrow next to the id3 tag bpm to get it to change over.

@djcaraby
Try the firmware update. It fixes some bugs.
I also have a Korg Zero 4 and I´m currently trying to wire this thing with Virtual Dj for using with Timecode Vinyl. Could you give me some advice how to setup this thing correctly. I´m also a bit confused about the Korg Edit Software where i can assign I/O <-- Don´t have a clue what i can do there exactly. I just clicked a little bit around and then it suddenly worked.
So for now I got Timecode Vinyl running on the Zero 4. But in Virtual Dj the waveform of the tracks keep slightly movin (left and right) even if there is no timecode running on my TT´s.
